Makeup of the Day Post ~ Bold Purple Shadow

For August, the Canadian Beauty Bloggers group  came up with the theme of "purple" - to share makeup, nails etc! 

I sometimes share more reviews of products then I do more of actually makeup looks I have done. I hope you guys don't mind if I start showing more makeup looks too!!!

I love bright, bold eye shadow looks even though I don't wear them as often as I would like!! 

I wanted this look to have a really dramatic shape too and fade out to a very deep purple! Now, I'm not great at creating this shape by hand so I did use tape to create it (you can also use a piece of paper, or freehand it - whatever you are comfortable with!

I paired it with fairly neutral make-up to make my eyes really pop! 

Here is all the goodies I used for this look:

For the eyes:
-Scotch tape to help create the shape 
-Benefit Stay Don't Stray Medium Deep Primer
-Ofra single shadow Buttercream (matte cream) for the whole eye shadow base
-Ofra single shadow Truffle (medium brown) for the crease 
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk for the lid base (really great for making bright colours stand out - dot it on your lid and blend)
-ColourPop "Envy" for the outer corner of the eye - blend slightly on to the lid
-ColourPop "Dare" bold purple use a brush to cover the lid and then dab over with extra product on your finger for the brightest application
-Ofra single shadow in Millennium Gold for the under the brow highlight, inner corner, and under the bottom lashes
-L'oreal Voluminous Superstar Liquid Eyeliner
-Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Boost Waterproof Mascara 
-Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter pencil for tightlining the bottom lashes 
-Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse for the brows!
