The theme for this week's Wine and Mask Wednesday is - fizzy! I'm thinking a "fizzy" wine and a "fizzy" mask for a fun night!
This pairing sounds like so much fun!
My wine for this week is:
Wine O'Clock Lively Moscato Sparkling Wine Spritzer ~ 4 pack for $10. Sparkling Wine in a can?! I have never heard of such a thing before, but I thought I ought to try it! (And it's a Moscato which is even better!)
I love Wine O'Clock's motto:
Time for a Glass? It’s Wine O’Clock Somewhere.
Here is a look at the wine:
The Spritzer is described as:
"Made with 100% wine, this sparkling wine spritzer is perfectly blended with light citrus flavors and has a refreshingly crisp finish."
I have to say, I actually quite like this! My expectations were not high for wine in a can - but it is quite sweet and is just the right amount of "fizzy" for what I needed tonight! The citrus flavor is prominent and I thought it tasted good. Remember, a Moscato is very sweet, so this is quite sweet as well!
A fizzy wine requires a fizzy mask to pair with:
Pure Smile Pure Jelly in "Royal Jelly" ~ $1 each. I received this in a Memebox Mask Box and can't believe I haven't used it yet - I think my mask pile is getting slightly out of control!
This mask is described as:
"Lock in moisture and transform skin into a nice honey-glazed complexion with royal black honey and royal jelly extracts."
Here is what the mask looks like:
I can't help but be slightly childish and giggle at the texture of the mask - but it does have a tiny hint of a honey smell!
Here are the steps to use:
1. Wash and tone face
2. Dry and apply mask all over face - this must be done quick! This mask starts bubbling almost instantly!
(I had to apply some to my hand for you to see the consistency as it was applied to skin - you can see it almost immediately starting to bubble)
(This was about 15 seconds after apply the mask)
3. Allow mask to bubble and leave on for 5-10 minutes
(This was after approximately 1 minute)
(This is after approximately 2 minutes)
4. Once the bubbles start disappearing (again 5-10 minutes) - mine were starting to disappear after approximately 5 minutes, then rinse off mask with warm water
5. Complete nightly skincare routine
I can't tell you how fun "fizzy" masks are (although not so easy to drink my fizzy wine while wearing!) - if you haven't tried one, I recommend it! The feeling of the bubbles is awesome and my skin feels deep cleaned and moisturized after use!
This mask was much easier to wash off than the last carbonated mask I used (Elizavecca), and it was quick - sometimes you just don't have 20 minutes for a face mask but still need something! I really enjoyed this mask, and since Memebox gave us 2, I get to try another scent as well - I'm looking forward to it!
Great idea! I've pretty much given up an expensive wine habit for my (even more expensive) beauty habit but may have to indulge occasionally as this looks like fun!

Thanks!! I try not to make the wine habit to expensive - the beauty habit still costs the most!! It is a fun idea - you can indulge once in a while - enjoy!
DeleteI like sparkling wine and bubble masks, so I approve of this pairing! Do you have any apple masks? It's not exactly wine, but hard cider and apple mask packs might make a nice pair. :)
ReplyDeleteI do have an apple mask and have been wondering what I should use with it - I love cider! I love the suggestion, it will be coming soon - thank you!!

DeleteI love the idea of pairing your mask and your wine, I don't think I'll be able to use a mask without wine now. That looks like a good mask, I wonder if there's a way to get hold of those now that Memebox have cut off us internationals? #kbeautybloghop
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the idea - I enjoy a glass of wine while relaxing with a mask!
DeleteMy new website to buying everything I need is ebay now!
