April 2015 Beauty Box 5 - Subscription Box Review

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription box that costs $12 US per month + $3 shipping to Canada. If you sign up for a longer subscription, you get a lower price per box: $30 quarterly, and $99 a year ( plus $3 shipping per month).

Beauty Box 5 has been referred to as the"starter beauty box" - it does not send many high end products and the value tends to be lower than other boxes, but they have sent out really good products!

*As of late, Beauty Box 5's boxes have been very up and down - they have had some great products; however, there have been very low box values and not so good products. I would suggest that you read reviews and see if it is products you like!*

Here is my April 2015 Beauty Box 5:

Beauty Box 5 always comes with a detailed product card and a theme. This month's theme is "Bloom": Sure, April Showers bring May flowers – but why should those petals have all the fun? Break out of your winter dry spell early with a blossoming attitude and flourish all month long! Whether it’s scheduling a much-needed mani date with a bestie, helping someone less fortunate than yourself, or just committing to washing off your makeup every single night, baby steps towards blooming into a better you are always beautiful.

Here is a closer look at the goodies inside:

Lasting Smiles Passionfruit Mango Organic Lip Balm ~ full size $4.99. Nourish your lips while you Nurture the World! Moisturize your lips with healthy organic ingredients while supporting fairtrade global farmers and funding cleft surgeries for children. Thanks to YOU, Lasting Smiles + Beauty Box 5 have helped provide 20 children with life transforming surgeries!
I love companies with a good cause so this lip balm is awesome! Plus it smells great!!

Style Essentials TwinGloss ~ full size $2.50. 2 glosses are better than 1! These fun tubes mix complimentary shades everytime you apply for nonsticky, supershiny lips!
It's hard to see from this picture but this lipgloss is 2 colors - half is light and half is cream color - I guess they mix as you apply it to your lips. It is quite sparkly so I will probably pass it on. (I couldn't find a website for these at all)

Incoco Nail Polish Applique Set in "Cherry Blossoms" ~ full size $8.99. A chipped mani is never cute, but you can put your finest fingernails forward with this polish strip set -no dry time required.
Yay - I love these! These fit the theme of the box and the design I got are perfect for spring! I am very happy with these!

Dancin' Goat Hula Bliss Body Lotion ~ sample size 2 oz for $4.50 (full size is 8 oz for $17.99) Goat's milk, coconut oil, lavender, eucalyptus and rosemary all work together in this natural formula to leave your skin hydrated and happy.
I love that Beauty Box 5 has included a company with all natural ingredients and the lotion feels great. The smell is not for everyone though, it is very strong!

First Aid Beauty Facial Cleanser ~ sample size 0.18 oz for $0.72 (full size is 5 oz for $20). Gently wash away the day with this PH-balanced cleanser! Why we love it: it's paraben-free, safe for sensitive skin, and feels so luxurious on.
So most people are not happy to receive foil samples and consider them worthless. I have included it in the value - I really like First Aid Beauty products as have enjoyed them! While foil packets are usually frustrating to use, these are okay with me! I am planning a 2 week island hopping honeymoon later in the year and am happy to find ways to minimize my packaging so these will be good for me.

Altogether, I received 5 products (3 are full size) with a total value of $21.70. This is a decent value and overall I am happy with the contents of this box.

Beauty Box 5 has been very up and down over the last few months - this month and last have been good, but prior to that they had sent out some old, discontinued products and it was disappointing. I am happy to see some improvements - next month, I believe is my last of my year subscription. I will not be renewing this subscription (I am cutting down and this box overall has just been okay). I would strongly caution you to do your homework before signing up for Beauty Box 5 - if you like what you see then sign up.

What did you think of the April box?
