7th Heaven Superfood Avocado, Rice Protein, and Turmeric Bamboo Biodegradable Sheet Masks

Happy Earth Day! I always like to use this time to reflect that even though I'm very consumeristic, I do like to be conscious in my purchasing and do what I can for this lovely planet of ours!

I received these masks as PR samples

Calgary has a great, city-wide composting program, so whenever I see products are biodegradable and compostable, I'm always super excited! I can have my skincare and make sure that my products are being composted (then every Summer, I pickup free compost from the city and add it to my garden).

Earth Day Beauty - Compostable Makeup and Skincare Products

Happy Earth Day everyone! I've been sharing Earth Day posts for the last few years and I'm really trying to make some overall changes in my life towards being more eco-conscious and I've been seeing how I can incorporate these in to my beauty products too!

In 2017, Calgary introduced a Green Cart composting program and I was actually pretty excited to get composting - my husband and I were actually considering a back yard self compost, so I'm glad our city made the decision for us! And honestly, it feels really good to be able to see how much waste I'm diverting from landfills and it's so accomplishing!

Earth Day Manicure Monday - Earth Sponge Nail Art

Yesterday was Earth Day, so today's Manicure is going to be an Earth Day themed mani! "Earth Day is Every Day" is the Earth Day motto and I think it's important to be earth conscious every day, so why not have the Earth on my nails as a little reminder?!

I was going for an "Earth From Above" look and I think that's exactly how these turned out! Sponge nail art is really easy too - it's not meant to be perfect at all!

Earth Day Skincare Saturday - Lush Cup O' Coffee Mask Review and A Look At Lush's Environmental Practices!

I decided to move my regular Skincare Sunday post to a Skincare Saturday this week - today is a special day because it is Earth Day! I think today of all days, it's not only important to feature a review of a product from an environmentally friendly brand, but also to talk about how the brand is contributing to a better environment overall!

When I think of a brand that makes amazing products and is environmentally friendly - I immediately think of Lush! I am total Lushie and have been for quite a while - my husband just goes to Lush on any occasion and scoops me up a gift basket, because he knows I love pretty much everything!

Lush is not only an environmentally friendly brand, but they also focus on fighting animal testing and buying ethically sourced ingredients for their products. They do not test their products on animals and only source ingredients from suppliers that do not test on animals as well. In addition to fighting animal testing in the industry, they have created a Charity Pot program - where 100% of the price goes to charitable organizations. Through their initiatives, since 2007 Lush has donated $17 million to 1400 grassroots charitable organizations in the areas of environmental conservation, animal welfare and human rights.
