Okay, I know that I'm always late to reviews - I like to try things, okay?! It's not a bad thing, but I know that since I've prepped my thoughts on the Beauty Light wands, the brands have released a matte version, so naturally I'm sharing my thoughts on the older style product now!
I purchased these products on my own - this post contains affiliate links
Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand ~ $52.00 CAN. A liquid highlighter wand that illuminates the face.
These products featured are mini sized - these aren't regular sold in mini sizes (although they should be because that price tag is high), but I did pick them up before Christmas in a holiday mini set to try them out!
I have two shades to try out - Pinkgasm and Spotlight, and honestly, I didn't know these were both considered highlighters, because I thought there were blushes and highlighters in this formula. This is great so all skintones can try the highlighters. I can certainly use pinkgasm as a shimmery blush, so I can multi-task with these!
These certainly aren't new products at this point, but they started this trend of puff-tipped blushes and highlighters (I have used concealer products like this before).
For application, you twist them open and then squeeze the product up and then dot it on the face and blend in. I am fine with this application, the only thing is it's hard to control how much product comes up and then is dabbed on. I don't like when product just sits on the puff getting old for the next time.
Pinkgasm ~ pink highlighter in a shimmer finish
Spotlight ~ rose gold with silver light in a radiant finish
And, here is pinkgasm used as a blush on my cheeks, and spotlight as my highlighter. Both shades are really pretty on the cheeks.
I did find as a blush that it was slightly patchy blending out - I think with a shimmery finish it's a little more forgiving, so it's not super noticeable on the cheeks as I am wearing it; but, I do think if you're shelling out $50 on a blush (or highlighter), it should be flawless. And, this truly has a ton of great reviews, and it's a nice blush, it's just not perfect. I did think it took a bit to find the perfect amount to apply - I applied a little too much at first. A little goes a long way! For the highlighter, it applied nicely and looks really pretty on. I think creamy highlighters often blend in a little more and look more natural so I liked it.
I will say this formula was long lasting and wore well - it never felt smudgy and melted in to the skin and looked good for the whole day!
And, here's a full look at the products on - I think they look really pretty. Even with my critiques, these are really nice products - I think they wear well and look great on, they are just a little bit finicky at first. For $50, they are pricey, so that's something to keep in mind. I'm glad I was able to try these out in a mini size and if you are interested, I know it's not the holiday season, but if you are interested, I think you could wait to try out in a more reasonable size! They are pretty products though if you don't mind the price tag!
