So, to help us count down to the big day, I have some fun little cold weather friends - it's been super cold and snowy in Calgary the last couple of weeks, so these penguins are perfectly dressed for December! I love cute little Wintery critters and I love how these penguins turned out!
Now, for the whole month of December, the #CBBxManiMonday group is doing Christmas/holiday nails, so hope you're looking forward to some festive nails!
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish in Gain Mo-Mint-Um
- ORLY Instant Artist Lacquer in Crisp White
- ORLY Instant Artist Lacquer in Jet Black
- L.A. Color Art Club polish in Red on Red
- Kiss orange nail art polish
- Moyra Stamping Nail Polish Top Coat
I also used some nail art brushes and a nail dotting tool for this manicure!
This manicure is all freehand, so a little harder to explain how to do it! I started with two coats of the light blue as the base polish. Then, with the black polish, I painted the rounded outline of the penguin, and the inside shape for the white body - I also drew the outlines for the earmuffs, hat, sweater and scarf with the black polish. Then, I filled in with white and red polishes. With the black polish I painted on eyes, and added a little diamond orange beak to the face. Then, I dotted on some white dots so all their warm weather gear matches! Then, I finished with a nail art top coat!
They aren't perfect, but they are adorable and I love how they turned out! As always, make sure to check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love to see their Christmas nails too!
