Lush Kitchen Subscription Box ~ Vol.9 February 2021

I've made it pretty clear here that I'm a big Lushie, so naturally I was very excited last year when Lush Kitchen announced that they were starting a subscription box, of course I ordered it right away and the first box was in May! It is a little pricey with the conversion to Canada; but, I've only been getting it every couple of months, so I consider it a fun subscription box splurge!

Lush Kitchen Subscription Box ~ Vol.9 February 2021
I purchased this subscription box on my own

The Lush Kitchen Subscription box is a monthly subscription box full of exclusive Lush Labs goodies made exclusively for the box - every month subscribers vote on the monthly menu of products that they would or would not like to see in the box, so you can help pick what is included in the box! Also, all of the products included in each box will be vegan.

Each month the Lush Kitchen Subscription box is £35 per month + shipping (shipping to Canada is £17.95), so all together the cost of the subscription box in Canada is £52.95 a month, which converted to $94.25 CAN this month). The subscription will come with 4-5 exclusive products and I think it will include a variety of products that Lush makes; but, will of course be mostly bath and body products.

Each month you pay and vote for products that are coming in the following month's box - so for this December box, you have until November 5 to vote on the products you'd like to see and then payment comes out on the 6th of the previous month. Then, Lush spends the month making the products and ships it out at the end of November so you receive it in December!  Also, just because you vote for a product does not guarantee that you will receive the item -  they will make the most popular products as well as through in a few that weren't voted on! The box is a complete surprise until you receive it!

You do have the option to skip months, which I love in a subscription and I have skipped and will continue to skip here and there since this subscription box is quite expensive with shipping to Canada, so I will likely keep it as a little treat every couple of months!

The box arrived filled with Lush's usual cornstarch peanuts to help the environment as well as a product card and an ingredient card. Here is a look at the products in the February 2021 (Vol. 9) box:

Lush Kisskin Bubble BarContaining a combination of bergamot, lemon and violet, this bubble bar offers a glorious floral arrangement, with a sweet, fruity element to make it both unique and highly sensual.

I certainly get more fruity than floral with this - like raspberry, with a little hint of lemon and it's delicious - one of my favourite scents ever! This is a past release from a few years ago from the Kitchen that was a special edition spin on the Mumkin bubble bar. It's so stinkin' adorable and smells amazing, can't wait to use this one. And, I love the Lush bubble bar formula as these can last so many baths! (Price point, the bubble bars are around $10 CAN).

Lush Frog Prince Bath BombThe Frog Prince bath bomb has a floral scent that epitomises Valentine’s Day perfectly. It’s rich with jasmine, rose and ylang ylang oil.

Okay, the lips on this thing - it is in serious competition with Kisskin for the cutest product ever?! I love it! This one is pretty florally - I like the scent, but I could see that it isn't for everyone. I will never complain about (Price point, this would probably be around $8 CAN).

Lush Two Hearts Beating As One Solid PerfumeWith jasmine, rose and ylang-ylang bringing together feminine elements that are sophisticated, yet sexy. Geranium and bergamot bring a sharp freshness to the scent, for a masculine balance.

Looking this up, this sounds like a really, really, really classic, like one of the original, Lush scents that put them on the map. I love the inclusion of a solid perfume - it's a super long lasting product, so I'm always happy to see non-single use products in the box so we can get lots of use of them! I get a sweet, floral scent and I like it! (Price point wise, this would be around $14 CAN).

Lush Lime Bounty Body ButterIndonesian coconuts are pureed, filtered, and drizzled with extra virgin coconut oil to make a gloriously rich coconut cream for anywhere that needs smoothing and making lovely. A mellow Persian lime and lemon myrtle fragrance adds a distinctly dreamy quality to a pre-bed butter that nonetheless works hard, imparting moisture and softening the surface of the skin.

Mmmm.... a coconutty lime scented body butter and it smells amazing! I thought the top was a little frozen (it was crazy cold in Calgary when this was shipping), but it turns out that this is shaved coconut butter so it will smooth in to the skin! I love this scent - it feels so fresh and tropical and it's lovely! This looks like a more recently available release too! I also love that it's a body butter and not just a regular lotion, so it's going to be very hydrating! (Price wise, this size lotion is around $15 CAN).

Lush Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair Shower GelAn infusion of lavender, jasmine flower and rose petal blends with sensual jasmine and ylang ylang absolutes to create an uplifting scent that stands out from the crowd. Show the shower how it’s done!

This is a pretty strong, florally jasmine, lavender scent - it's sort of a perfect pre-bedtime scent. Again, I can see everyone not loving this one because it is super florally, but I think it's fitting in a Valentine's Day themed box! (This is a really big shower gel too, so for price point reference, it is around $23 CAN for this size!)

Lush Kitchen Subscription Box ~ Vol.9 February 2021

As a Canadian the shipping cost really adds to the total cost making this just under $100 per month for me. I paid $94.25 for this box, which works out to about $18.85 per product, with the 5 products in the box. This came with about $70 worth of products.

I will be honest, this isn't a box that you would pick up for a huge value, this is mainly about getting exclusive and retro Lush products! If you are a Lushie, you will likely love this box for the nostalgia and exclusive scents!

I also typically skip some months, so I'm not getting a March box, but I still want to get an April box because I love Lush's Easter products! What do you guys think about this subscription box?
