Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have had a great week! (I took today off, so I'm enjoying a little extra long weekend on home). It has been -25 to -30 all week, with windchills reaching the -40s for the whole week - it's so crazy and it's been a miserable week!

Time to share my TBR list for the month - I'm keeping the love theme up for the month and sharing some of the romance and rom-coms I'm planning on reading this month! I always try and plan my reading with themes; but, honestly, I usually manage to stick to the theme for most of the month, then I grab something I'm in the mood for, which is usually different!
I always track my books on GoodReads, so if you have GoodReads and want to connect - you can find me here! I really love seeing what everyone is reading and I always find recommendations for myself from your reading lists! Here's what I'm planning on reading:
- Bridgerton: The Duke and I by Julia Quinn ~ Okay, I flew through this show (and I usually try to insist that I read the book first, but I've done that with a few series that I still haven't managed to watch yet), so I thought this book would be pretty perfect for Valentine's Day and I'm hoping it's a sexy as the show was!
- The Royal We by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan ~ This book has been around for a couple of years and I'm just getting around to this - a rom com that involves the Throne, sounds lovely!
- Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren ~ I have been loving Christina Lauren's books, so naturally I want to read some of their older books. This one sounds like first love re-entering and sounds perfect for Love Month!
- The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory ~ I read this one earlier this month and it's about two people hitting it off in a broken-down elevator and then they pretend to date at a wedding and everything that ensues after! This was okay - I loved the social commentary and their playful relationship, but I found their was too much lack of talking about feelings and miscommunication (I like a little, but not too much!) - it was still a cute, fun read!
- Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey Mcquiston ~ This sounds like a love story between the American first son and the Prince of Wales after the two start a fake friendship to help improve British and American relations. The reviews of this book are so good and it sounds like a story about being true to yourself!
- A Pho Love Story by Loan Le ~ This is a YA romance about two teenagers who's families have restaurants across the street from each other and parents who are rivals - they finally start talking and like each other, but what will happen if their parents find out?! I just finished this book last night and it was cute - of course, much tamer on the romance side because it's YA, so more character and story focused! It was a little slow, but not necessarily in a bad way - they introduced us to the restaurants and struggling with family acceptance and racism, I enjoyed it!
Are you reading more romance this month?!
TWO
Ahhh.... more hobby cookie decorating! It's been so cold here, we can't do much so last weekend I spent the whole weekend baking and decorating cookies (I doubled the batch so my kids could spend the day decorating different ones) and I love how they turned out! I used this Soft Cut-Out Sugar Cookie recipe and decorated with royal icing! I also have been perfecting my Hot Chocolate Bomb making and they are so much fun! Plus, I made chocolates with the left over melted chocolate and made them shimmery with some lustre dust!
THREE
I got an order this week from Best of Calgary Foods and it was so good! They've complied a list of 24 amazing "artisan" foods and deliver together for a flat fee - you order by Saturday for delivery that week. We ordered from 2GreekGals, Glamorgan Bakery and more! It's all places I've had, but I'm not really out running around to different stores and shops right now!
FOUR
I'm probably the last person out there who doesn't have spotify or music on my phone, but honestly I listen to books most of the time on my car. I sill pick up CDs from some of my favourites for support and listen to them in my car or at work! But, I just got these and Taylor announced she's got another album out soon and is re-doing her older music so it can officially be owned by her!
FIVE
Did you guys watch the Framing Britney Spears documentary yet?! Oh man, I feel pretty awful for buying all the trashy gossip magazines back in the day, I realized the paparazzi are pretty terrible, but honestly they are awful - she couldn't even get out of the car or anything without 100 people swarming her. And, of course her breakdown is difficult to watch because I am a Britney fan, but it seems like she's been able to keep herself together - I'm sad she won't create until her Dad is off the conservatorship, but I get it and I'm glad she is standing up for herself and trying to take back what control she can!
I hope you all have a great weekend - Happy Lunar New Years and Valentine's Day!
