Five on Friday - July 3, 2020

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe that it is July already?! Wow - this has been flying by. I am looking forward to July though, we do have some really simple family time planned and I can't wait!

I hope you all had a great week! We had an extra day off this week for Canada Day and last weekend was my husband's birthday, so it was a pretty good week for us!

ONE

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

I have been using the same really basic Monthly Makeup Basket for May and June and I've been in a bit of a slump not wearing much makeup. So, I really thought I needed to step it up for July and start a new Monthly Makeup Basket again!

The products that I planning on focusing on in July are:
I'm looking forward to getting some use out of these products this month!

TWO

I already recapped these at the end of May and my thoughts are pretty much the same as the end of last month
  • Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection - I don't reach for this often, but I love the blushes and highlighters in this palette, so I keep this around because it's good quality!
  • Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Highlighting Powder in CandleLight - I've been focusing on this highlighter in my project pan and have been doing well. But, this fell out of the pan a little while ago, so it's been slowly crumbling and it's in my collection for quite a few years! But, it's a lovely highlighter!
  • Too Faced Cosmetics Sweet Peach Papa Don’t Peach Blush - I've also been working on this in my project pan and I hit pan on it this month! Woo hoo!
I did enjoy using these products this month!

THREE

I finally went to Granary Road for the first time last weekend and we really enjoyed it! Doesn't it look like Honey I Shrunk The Kids?! It is a big farm with lots of activity centres and a farmer's market and it was so much fun! The little boys loved it; but, even the teenager enjoyed it too!

FOUR

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I cleared out my closet of all the clothes that don't fit me anymore and it feels really amazing to not have anything left that doesn't fit me properly anymore! So I have been slowly getting my orders in replacing everything I tossed and I'm so excited:

The first picture is my order from Bare Activewear - I picked up a pair of joggers and leggings and they are a Calgarian indigenous female owned brand and I loved these pants! I will have to pick up more from them! Then I ordered some new work clothes from RW&Co and the C&G Mixed Media Cap Sleeve Tunic T-Shirt was definitely a stand out for me! The next order is from Joe Fresh and I usually pick up basics from them, but I had a couple really great items in the order - especially the Print Soft Knit Skirt (it's so gorgeous!) and the Print Knot-Front Swimsuit! The last picture is from American Eagle and the AE Denim Tomgirl Midi Short are so nice!

I love the order I got from Ivory Lane Boutique - I picked up a sweatshirt dress from The Roster and their clothes are so lovely as they come printed with uplifting sayings and they are so cute! This is a local Calgary boutique I love buying from! Then I had a small Old Navy order come in and the maroon shorts are so cute; but, my favourite item is the Leopard Print Canvas Slip-Ons for Women. I also picked up this lovely printed bathing suit from La Vie En Rose! And, the final picture is an order from Simons and they always have good shirts; but, my favourite shirt is the Abstract faces tee - it's so soft and comfortable!

I think I made out pretty good with what I picked up!

FIVE

I try not to support Amazon very often here (if I can purchase things from elsewhere, I will - I just don't like supporting the owner of Amazon), but I did get a few random items over the past weeks from Amazon that I think are worth sharing!

The first is this Rechargeable Candle Lighter - so it's actually a usb charged lighter that has a flexible neck. I love that it's not a flame and it works so well, plus I hate reaching lighters in to candles when they are getting low, so this is pretty genius! The next item is these Blue Light Blocking Glasses - I haven't been convinced of these; but, I guess they can't really hurt to use right?! Also, I have been getting a couple of books to read on my phone and I thought these would be good! And the final item is these Mosquito Repellent Patches - my friend has been using these while we are out with the kids and they are worth trying out!

I hope you all have a great weekend!
