January 2017 - Month in Masks and Mask Empties!

Masking is a huge part (and probably my favorite part) of my skincare routine! I try to use all types of masks as often as possible as I find they really help moisturize and improve my skin!

This post is a review of all the masks I use each month and mini reviews on all of them - I also consider the Month of Masks my Mask Empties post, because I do not feature my sheet masks in my monthly empties post! You can check out my past Month of Masks here

My masking has really gone down hill over the past few months - but I am really trying to pick it up again! Here is a look at the masks I used in January:

January 1
The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask - Olive ~ $2.00. This Real Nature Face Mask leaves skin supple and smooth in an instant. Contains olive extract to provide intense hydration as it nourishes the epidermis.

I have said the same thing about The Face Shop masks - they are easily my go-to masks. They are affordable and work well. While they may not have the best fit (they are a little big on me), I still find them very manageable. This one had lots of essence and made my skin feel great!
Repurchase: Yes

January 5
Sexylook x Disney Princess Intensive Care Black Facial Mask "Cinderella" ~ $4.00. Natural extracts and active ingredients help detox and clarify the skin. Pure cotton mask absorbs dirt and excessive sebum while deeply moisturize and brighten your skin. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to moisturize and whiten skin. Promotes skin regeneration for healthier moisturized skin.

The Cinderella Mask features: pumpkin enzyme anti-wrinkle, obsidian moisturizing, and horse oil moisturizing. I have previously featured the Belle mask on a Mask Wednesday post - you can check that out here! The Cinderella mask is very similar - this had a ton of essence and lasted 45 minutes. It was so soothing and moisturizing! Love!
Repurchase: Yes!

January 8
Holika Holika Juicy Mask Sheet "Mango" ~ $2.00. Mango juice for radiant skin that is full of vitality (revitalizing).

I have featured this mask on an old Mask Wednesday - you can check out that post here. Although, this time around I wasn't as thrilled about this mask. It was fine - the fit wasn't good, it had a decent amount of essence and worked fine - it just wasn't a stand out to me at all.
Repurchase: Likely not...

January 13
Skin Food Black Sugar Wash Off Mask ~ $15.90. A leave-on mask with generous moisturizing and effective exfoliating ingredients. Grainy sugar granules slough off excess oil and grime, while a self-heating formula opens up pores, allowing skin to fully absorb the rich minerals and vitamins. After cleansing, gently rub mask all over face, leave mask on for 10-15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. Experience renewed luster and softness immediately after use.

This is an amazing exfoliator! I have completed a full review if this mask in the past (but be warned - this is on OLD post) and
you can see it here. This mask is an amazing exfoliator and applies easy and smells good. It can be a little hard to rinse off, but it works so well!
Repurchase: Likely!

January 13
Beauty Clinic Mediheal Snail Aquaring SOS Mask ~ $4.49 CAN. "Dr. Post" Snail Aquaring SOS Mask is a special moisturizing clinic system which intensively manages skin which has been damaged by dry environment containing hydration building ingredients such as Snail Mucus Components. This age-old oriental formula is used to provide much needed hydration and balance.

This mask is hands down the best mask I have ever used! I have featured this on a Skincare Sunday post - it is a 2 step face mask and has a special ampoule that you use first! This mask is amazing and when my skin doesn't look good, it makes it looks amazing! Best mask ever!
Repurchase: YES x100!

January 15
THEFACESHOP Character Mask Kakao Friends "Neo" ~ $4.00. Blueberries as firm as coy Neo's round face! With essense containing Adenosine and Blueberry, this character face mask brings back skin's vitality and resilience.

This mask is hilarious and terrifying! I bought it a while ago, but the line has been discontinued and is not available in Canada anymore! It didn't have very much essence and it didn't adhere well to the face. It didn't last very long either - it left me feeling "meh"!
Repurchase: No

January 18
Dr. Jart Dermask Water Jet Soothing Hydra Solution ~ $7.50 CAN. A cellulose sheet mask that hydrates, soothes, and calms the sensitive irritation of the dehydrated skin.

I have been really excited to try a Dr Jart mask - I received this in a new mask subscription and I had to try it right away! I did feature this on a Mask Wednesday post and was really happy with the quality of the mask. This has a cellulose material mask and it nice and thin mask - it had lots of essence and made my skin feel amazing!

January 24
To Go Spa Coconut Eyes ~ $4.17 (pack of 3 for $12.50). Hydrate, Nourish, Soothe and Moisturize your under eyes leaving them refreshed and rejuvenated.

I love eye masks - I don't wear them enough! I had a really rough sleep the night before so I really needed an extra boost under my eyes! The coconut masks and soothing and really works to give a refreshed look to the eyes. They felt good and worked well! (Also, to make these feel better, put them in the fridge before for an extra cooling sensation!)

January 25
Ariul Mood Maker Mask - "Nobody Knows Why I'm So Chic" ~ $2.25 CAN approx. This mask has the most amazing packaging - it is hilarious! Check out the Mask Wednesday post where I featured this mask to see it up close! This mask fit a bit big, but did adhere well and lasted for 45 minutes! This was very moisturizing and worked well on my skin!
Repurchase: Yes, if I can find it again!

January 30
Beauty Idea Diary Pearl Caviar Anti-Age Activating Mask ~ $1.99. Beauty Idea Diary Pearl Caviar Anti-Age Activating Mask.

I received this in a mask subscription and have never heard of this mask brand before! This wasn't a very good mask - the fit was terrible and this had almost too much essence and made it slippery and hard to wear. I didn't like this at all.
Repurchase: No

For January I used 10 masks - this is a big improvement over the last few month of masks! I really needed to get back in to my skincare routine, and I will continue to use as many masks per month as I can!
