Time to go through my trash and see what I loved and didn't in November!
Giorgio Armani - Fluid Sheer ~ sample size (full size is $68.00). A cult-favorite, multitasking illuminator and complexion perfector.
This was a Sephora sample and was in one of the lighter shades - I used it as an illuminator mixed in with foundation, but the shades can also be used as a highlighter, blush or bronzer. I did like the glow it gave, but think this is quite expensive and likely not worth the price tag!
Repurchase: No
Sephora Colection Solid Clean: Solid Brush Cleaner ~ mini size $10.00. A gentle, solid sponge and brush cleanser featuring argan oil and a warm Moroccan fragrance.
This worked nearly as well as the Beauty Blender solid cleanser - I was impressed and thought it did a great job on my brushes and sponges!
Repurchase: Yes!
Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear™ Micro Water ~ full size $40.00. A pure and natural all-in-one cleansing water that removes makeup and impurities while toning and brightening skin.
I actually bought this only when Birchbox was closing in Canada and I had $40 worth of points to spend. It worked fine, but I didn't think it did as good of a job as the Bioderma Micellar water - for the price, it is not worth it!
Repurchase: No
Eau Thermale Avène Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Serum ~ sample size 5 ml for $6.33 (full size is 30 ml for $38.00). A unique serum enriched with a high concentration of soothing and calming Avène Thermal Spring Water provides the skin with a boost of continuous hydration for 24 hours. Use this serum as a first step to enhance the effectiveness of any skin care regimen.
I received this in a past Ipsy bag - and I have liked products from this brand before. This was a good day moisturizer, but wasn't really a stand-out in anyway. I can't see myself remembering it when I go to purchase my next serum.
Repurchase: Likely not
Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream ~ sample - full size is $42.00. Patented hydro ionized mineral water—fusing essential minerals zinc, potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, and sodium—restores and retains ideal hydration levels, preventing future moisture loss. Olive squalane strengthens skin’s natural barrier, for intense nourishment for up to 24 hours. Richly texturized for instant absorption, this revitalizing cream relieves dryness for the smoothest skin imaginable.
I LOVE this moisturizer - I featured it on my August Monthly Favorites! This is a really great lotion and it really improved my overall skin texture and quality!
Repurchase: Yes!
Skinfood - Egg White Pore Meringue Foam ~ $31.90. An auto-pump foaming cleanser that gently cleanses skin and pores with luxuriant, meringue-like foam.
This is a really good foaming cleanser - I loved how soft and smooth it was and felt really silky on my skin! It also lasted a looooong time!
Repurchase: Yes, I think so!
Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Wipes ~ $12.99. Simple Kind to Skin Micellar Water Wipes are made with Micellar Water for a thorough yet gentle cleanse. The clever micelles lift away make-up, impurities and unclog pores all while hydrating your skin. Skin is left feeling clean, fresh and hydrated without irritation.
I generally use cleansing wipes on makeup swatches or makeup trials - these worked fine for that purpose. They did not work great on taking off face make up, especially mascara. I didn't think that this worked well at all.
Repurchase: No
Molly & Rex Green Tea Soap ~ $???.
This came in a gift exchange I did - it was actually really strong smelling soap and I did not like it at all. I had to let someone else in the house use it.
Repurchase: No
Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect ~ sample size 30ml for $5.40 (full size is 200ml for $36.00). As self-confessed blow dryer addicts, we put our hair through a lot of stress. To keep our strands from a styling-induced meltdown, we’ve been using this extra hydrating leave-in conditioning mist. It doesn’t just protect hair from heat damage; it also doubles as a color protector and UV shield. The sulfate-free formula sinks in quickly and has a pretty floral scent thanks to white freesia, amber, and musk.
This was one of the many hair samples I received in a my past Birchboxes - I didn't find this did anything particularly great for my hair. It was actually a better detangler than a heat protectant.
Repurchase: No
Fruits & Passion Shower Gel - Orange Cantaloup ~ 200 ml for $12.50. This fragrance is as cheerful as a ray of sunshine. A mix of fresh, radiant notes infused with softness, it exudes a captivating citrus scent.
This is a delicious smelling shower gel - I love this scent from Fruits and Passion, it's one of my favs!
Repurchase: Yes, eventually
Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo ~ $3.98. Refresh your look and experience lightweight clean hair, even on days you don't wash with new dry shampoo. The natural tapioca formula absorbs excess oil, transforming lifeless, oily hair into fresh hair with the crisp essence of citrus and mint. Refresh your look and experience lightweight clean hair, even on days you don't wash. Natural Tapioca instantly absorbs excess oil.
This dry shampoo actually started as one of my favorites - I even featured it on my June Monthly Favourites post! As I used it more, I loved it less because I found it didn't quite work as well as a few others. I don't mind it and just used a little more product than I normally would and rubbed it in well!
Repurchase: Maybe - the price is great!
Acuvue Oasys x 2 ~ $29.00. ACUVUE OASYS Contact Lenses with HYDRACLEAR Plus. Experience Acuvue Hydraclear Plus technology and say goodbye to dry eyes and contacts, even in challenging environments. Acuvue Oasys contact lenses are very comfortable and have the highest UVA and UVB protection.
These are my go-to contacts - nothing special here! But they are nice and hydrating!
Repurchase: Yes
Lush Dragon's Egg Bath Bomb ~ $6.95. Unleash fire and bathe in a whirlpool of magnificently vibrant, sizzling color and a spectacular explosion of sights, sounds and scents. Inhale the refreshing sherbet-y citrus scent of lemon and bergamot; you'll feel like you're up and away on the back of your own dragon. This mystical bath bomb fizzles, crackles, curls and ends with a glitter explosion. Citrus oils are known for their invigorating effect on the mind and Dragon's Egg is no exception! Drop one of these into the bath for a serious wake-up call on groggy mornings or before an evening out.
I like this bath bomb - I noticed it fizzing, but not crackling, etc. - I liked the smell of this and I thought it worked well. I prefer the more relaxing scents overall, but I enjoyed this.
Repurchase: Probably...
Lush Avobath Bath Bomb ~ $6.75. Our bold green Avobath Bath Bomb is not for lazy days lying back in the tub. On the contrary, it’s for gray days and mornings (afternoons and evenings too), when you just can’t shake your brain fog. Pop one into your bath for an instant jolt of invigorating, lemongrass-scented energy and fizz. Splash about in the shimmery green waters and let the fresh avocados and olive oil soften you up and leave you with softer, supple skin, as well as a brighter outlook. Next time you need a zesty refresher; all you need to do is Avobath.
This was a good, refreshing bath bomb - it turned the whole bath green! I liked this!
Repurchase: Likely
So for October I only used up 15 products - this actually is a fair bit less than the past few months where I have been around 30 or more the past few months. Got through lots of skincare this month!
