Five on Friday - May 28, 2021 ~ Cobbs Adventure Park, May Owlcrate Box, Focaccia Art, Sport Chek Haul and Alberta Reopening Plan

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a good week - I love a short work week, but, it always feels busier at work trying to get everything done in 4 days instead of 5!

ONE

Cobbs Adventure Park
I purchased anything mentioned in this post - this post contains affiliate links

Last weekend we took the family to Cobbs Adventure Park (outdoor activities are open right now and this is a big farm space) and we finally got good weather to spend the whole day there. It is the cutest - the wallabies and kangaroos are adorable, plus there were so many other activities to entertain the kids, it was a perfect day! We will certainly be going back there again!

TWO

I just received my April Owlcrate subscription and this month's theme is "Expect the Unexpected" - each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well. They often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription!  (And, I'm happy that shipping was so quick this month, I feel like it's been slow for so long, that this was a welcome change!)

The items included in this month's box are:
  • Book - The Ones We're Meant to Find by Joan He ~ This is one of most anticipated books of there, so I was so excited when it was included in this month's box! It's about 2 sisters trying to find each other - one is on an island with no memory and the other is in a floating eco-city. Also, this is the prettiest cover ever - the book is signed and has an exclusive foil design on the hardcover.
  • Square Scarf ~ This Out of Print scarf is inspired by Leigh Bardugo's Rules of Wolves - it's cool, but not really something I will use personally. I have to catch up on my Grishaverse books too!
  • Corduroy Bag ~ I love this bag - it has a zipper and inside pocket, so it's not just an average tote bag. It says "May We Meet Again on Distant Shores" - it feels perfect for a park day and I love the quote (even though I haven't read Obsidio, what it's inspired by). I did find that I had to cut some stitching from the embroidery, but it didn't take too long).
  • Vinyl Sticker ~ There is a little sticker included inspired by The Gilded Wolves (also haven't read yet), but the quote is cool, so I'm sure I will find somewhere to stick it!
  • Metal Bookmark ~ I love a solid bookmark so there is great - it comes with some quotes of hope from Scythe and The Fifth Season.
  • Collectible Book Tin ~ This is the second in the series of four book tins that will be coming out this year, all inspired by books that would be on the shelves of the different Londons in the A Darker Shade of Magic (there are created by Forensics and Flowers and they are lovely!)
  • Enamel Pin ~ The pin is inspired by the book of the month, and I love the ocean design on it - it's one of my favourites!
If you are interested in signing up, Owlcrate is $32.99 US per month (this just increased for the April box), plus shipping is $14.99 to Canada.

THREE

Okay, I've taken up a new hobby of Focaccia art - consider me sold. I'm rather obsessed with how cute this turned out! I followed Fraiche Living's recipe and then had fun making flowers out of veggies! They roasted nicely too, so I can't wait to try this more with other veggies on there!

FOUR

Just getting ready for the warm weather with a few little items from Sport Chek! These Under Armour Women's Ignite Sandals and Nike Women's Bella Kai Thong Sandals are both sooo comfortable - the other flip flops, were just a sale item and I feel like you can never have too many sandals! I also picked up this Under Armour Women's Play Up Cap because I don't own a hat and probably should!

FIVE

Alright, I think all provinces are announcing their reopening plans - and I'm all for reopening, but safely and effectively, this up and down thing has been tough. But, here in Alberta it seems like a huge push to get all health measures removed in time for Stampede and it feels a little crazy. I'm not allowed anyone in my house, but in 4 weeks we will have no restrictions anywhere?! I am hopeful for a return to normal, but this just feels like a big party at Stampede will lead to a ton of outbreaks! I will be avoiding it, but am hoping the vaccine threshold works! Curious what your provinces plans are?

I hope you all have a great weekend!
