I'm really excited for today's post because I was actually excited about the new Benefit face palettes! I've heard great things about their face product; but, I never tried them because their regular single packaging is quite bulky. A few years ago Benefit came out with the lovely face trios for the holidays and I missed out and the reviews were great, so I told myself the next time that they released a face palette I was interested in, I was going to grab it right away!
I purchased this palette myself
Enter the new Fouroscope face palettes - I instantly knew that I wanted to pick one of them up! (Also, I'm not sure why they called them Fouroscope and then only released three of them: Air, Earth and Fire - where is the Water one?!)
I was the most interested in the Air Goddess because it came with a brightening face powder, two blushes and a highlighter. The Earth Angel palette and Fire Queen both come with a bronzer, two blushes and a highlighter in different shades. Some of the shades included in all the palettes are new and others are old favourites. I do think it would have been a good idea for Benefit to expand the range and have one with a darker bronzer as well; but, I do think some of the new blush shades are deeper and more pigmented, like Soulstice.
Benefit Cosmetics Fouroscope Air Goddess Palette ~ $48.00 CAN. Show off your soft side, Air Goddess, with this limited-edition, delicate & glowy cheek palette! Features full sizes of our iconic Dandelion baby-pink brightening powder and fan-fave Georgia golden peach blush, and minis of exclusive, never-before-seen Soulstice berry blush and Blaze peach-pink highlighter.
These initially sounded like they were only being released in France a couple of months ago, so when my local Shoppers shared that they had them in stock, I raced over to pick one up (they are also available on Shoppers online too now). I know that travel seems crazy to talk about right now, but when we can travel, this feels like a great option because it has a finishing powder, two blushes and a highlighter!
(Also, weirdly Sephora has Dandelion listed as a blush, but the description calls it a pressed highlighting palette. So, it's supposed to be a brightening all over face powder, but I guess it could double up as a blush if you are fair).
Dandelion ~ A pale-pink, pressed highlighting powder
Soulstice ~ A berry blush
Georgia ~ A golden peach blush
Blaze ~ A peach-pink highlighter
I absolutely love the shades that were included in this palette - I use a finishing powder every day and this one is good, it's nice and light and just has a light sheen to it. The peach blush is quite light, but it still has a pretty colour on me. The pink blush is deeper and quite pigmented, so it's a beautiful pink on the cheek, and the highlighter is a nice, natural pink peach on the apples of the cheek and I love the finish.
Here is a look with the Dandelion finishing powder, Georgia peach blush and the Blaze highlighter on top! I love the finish of all of these products!
And, here's a look with the Dandelion face powder, Soulstice blush and Blaze highlighter - this pink blush is super pigmented, so I only need a tiny bit of it to really pop on the cheeks!
I should mention that this palette does have a scent to it - it's quite florally and I'm not sure if that is something all Benefit face products have (again, first time using their complexion products). It's quite prominent; however, doesn't last long once you apply the product to the face.
Overall, I'm quite happy with this palette - I really enjoy all the products and the finishes are all great on me! I've been using it quite a bit since I've picked it up and plan on putting it in my Monthly Makeup Basket next month to see how much I reach for it, as I sometimes tend to overlook my face palettes for singles; but, I don't think that will happen with this one!
