Maison Jacynthe started as a skincare lineup (I reviewed a few of their skincare products here!) and they recently expanded their line to include makeup. All their products are cruelty-free, are 100% natural, and contain no GMO's or chemicals.
I was excited to be able to try a few eye products - a mascara and 2 eyeshadows!
Maison Jacynthe eyeshadows come in refill packages and are each $22.00 - they are actually really big for an eyeshadow pan (bigger than any eyeshadow I currently have individually or in a palette).
The shadows are described as: our eyeshadows come in 15 indispensable and essential colors. Choose between 5 matte and 10 satin finishes that will give you a beautiful everyday look. Soft texture, highly pigmented and long-lasting. Formulated with the utmost care for an ultimate performance. 91 to 100% of ingredients from organic origin.
There are also adorable wooden compacts available for purchase as well, but the pans are magnetic so I will use these in a current z-palette that I have!
The two shades I have are:
- #06 Viennois ~ a light pink purple satin shadow
- #10 Bonbon ~ a deeper mauve, purplish brown satin shadow
I love the finish if these satin shadows - Viennois is a little hard to see in a swatch but it is a gorgeous shade! I did an eye look you can see the truer colour at the bottom of the post!
Maison Jacynthe Mascara ~ $33.00. Natural intense black mascara for a sublime eye-makeup look. Formulated with clary sage water, to hydrate and protect your lashes. The mascara has a silky texture and is highly pigmented. Its thin brush gives you a precise application and provides volume. Ideal for a more intense look. Long-lasting thanks to its exclusive formulation. 100% of ingredients from organic origin.
I was surprised when I opened this to see how small the wand was! The formula was quite wet, but I did find it did a great job at lengthening and defining my lashes. I would suggest a lash comb as there was a tad bit of clumping, but overall I thought it made my lashes look good!
Here is an eye look completed with only Maison Jacynthe products - I applied Viennois all over the lid and used Bonbon in my crease and outer corner. Finished off with the masara - I did not seperate my lashes or fix the look at all so you can see the true application of the products! I love the finish of the eyeshadows - they are satin without being shimmery!
And here is a completed look - same eye look with foundation and a complimentary lipstick shade (Bite Beauty Mauvember 2015)
Have you tried any Maison Jacynthe products yet?! I would recommend both their makeup and skincare products, especially for those looking for natural, cruelty free and a Canadian brand!
