Five on Friday - November 4, 2016

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week - I always find the week after Halloween a little exhausting! So much work last weekend and on Monday for the event and lots to do after too! (Not that I'm complaining - I LOVE Halloween!)

ONE

Calling all Calgary girls - have you heard that Dave Lackie is doing 2 beauty presentations in Calgary this weekend?! Dave Lackie is Cityline's beauty expert and I always see so many fellow beauty bloggers in Toronto that go to a ton of events!

This will be a presentation style event for about 45 minutes at The Bay in Southcentre Mall and it takes place on Saturday, November 5 at 2:00 and 4:00 pm (although, I think 2 pm is sold out).

I think this is great that Calgary is getting some beauty exposure - and, you get these cute little goodies for attending!

TWO

Here is how we looked on Halloween night - my husband was a viking, my son was Jason from Friday the 13th and I was a doll, with a mini trick-or-treating doll too! I had lots of fun handing out Halloween candy and seeing all the kiddies in their cute costumes!

But, now that Halloween is over, I will be getting in to full-blown Christmas mode!

THREE

Mmmm.... Fall is so perfect for soups! This week's soup was Loaded Broccoli Cheese and Potato soup! I found this recipe on Pinterest and tweaked it a little (cooked onions and celery as a base first, added a bit more broth, and added corn as well)! I also made these delicious homemade biscuits that are really quick and easy to go with the soup as well (the recipe is vegan, but I just use regular milk and they are delicious!)

FOUR

Have you guys picked your yearly advent calendar yet? I decided to not go with a beauty calendar (what??? I know right...) because I have barely made it through a small amount of stuff from last years calendar! I figured I would do something different this year!

I chose to go with the David's Tea 24 Days of Tea calendar!

Side note, have you guys seen how many herbal ingredients in tea pregnant woman are not recommended to have? There is always a concern with caffeine consumption, but there is so many ingredients such as lemongrass, chamomile, hibiscus, ect. Make sure you check the potential risks! Some teas are recommended (think Rooibos or all fruits - I ordered a few with this order as well and will share them with you when I receive them!)

FIVE
I shared 3 new reads (2 with 5 out of 5 ratings). I'm always looking for good recommendations to read - if you have read anything good lately, let me know!

Also, I am always looking for people to share book recommendations with on Goodreads - if you have it, add me here

I hope you all have a great weekend!!!
