Five on Friday - November 11, 2016

Happy Friday everyone - it is also Remembrance Day here in Canada so we should all take a minute to be thankful for the freedoms and rights we have, and those who have fought, and continue to fight for us!

ONE
This week marked my 30th Birthday! It seems a little hard to believe as 30 seems a little weird, but there are so many good things coming this year - I am looking forward to seeing what 30 brings!

My hubby spoiled my this year and got me a new laptop!

I'm so excited for this! My laptop is so slow and it takes forever to do anything! I can't wait to get it all set up!

We celebrated pretty quietly with a nice dinner at Karma - my favorite Indian restaurant in Calgary!

TWO
I feel like I have some big news - I actually went ahead and cancelled both my Topbox and my Ipsy this month! I will get Topbox for November and then it is done, and Ipsy will come until February because I had a yearly subscription!

I have just been unhappy with the products, and if I am going to spend money on makeup every month, I would love to get products I love or am excited to try! I have also been quite happy with my Boxycharm subscription so I will keep that up!

THREE

I just got my David's Tea order in! I'm so excited for the Tea Advent Calendar!

Also 3 teas that are safe while you are pregnant are:
  • Rooibos
  • Melon Drop Fruit Infusion
  • Green & Fruity Rooibos
There are a few others: Luscious Watermelon, Creme Caramel, Forever Nuts - there are more, these are the few Caffeine Free ones I have found. Some of the caffeine ones I'm sure are good too, just watch the overall caffeine intake!

FOUR

I finally saw The Girl on the Train last night - it was so good! I really enjoyed it! I thought overall, it stayed true to the book and the actresses and actors really played their characters well! I can't believe it took me this long!

FIVE
I try not to talk about polarizing issues too often on the blog - it is a beauty blog after all! But, the American election took place this week and I think even though I am not in America, there is no doubt that Canada and the rest of the world will be impacted by the decision made this week!

I am quite shocked that a person like Donald Trump could get elected - everything he campaigned on was shocking and quite scary. I'm scared that he is a climate change denier, doesn't believe in basic equal human rights, treats women as objects, and has terrifying world views. I was really hoping to see a female president myself!

I hope everyone has a great weekend - I am having a girl's night this weekend so I am excited!

  1. Happy Birthday! I will be 30 in December, and I can't believe it lol. I still need to read The Girl on the Train, I have the book but I just haven't picked it up. I'll have to do that soon because I'd like to see the movie too!
