December 2015 - Winter FabFitFun Unboxing and Review

FabFitFun is a quarterly lifestyle box! For $57.99 USD for Canadians, (FabFitFun is $49.99 in the U.S.A.) at the start of each season, they guarantee you will receive at least $100 worth of items - generally the box has over $200 worth of goodies in it!

FabFitFun has been shipping to Canada for over a year now and I have been very happy with the FabFitFun boxes - this is one of my favorite subscriptions! I stick to it despite the crappy exchange rate because the value is always there!!!

There have been a few hiccups with the Canadian subscriptions over the year - including gifts cards to places that do not ship to Canada (or charge an arm and a leg), or products that were unable to air ship to Canada and took a long time to receive. This month, I think most Canadians were charged a Cash On Delivery import fee - FabFitFun had refunded me this right away and messaged all Canadian subscribers about it. So despite a few minor hiccups, I will say there is usually good customer service to deal with!

Here is a look at the Winter FabFitFun box:
December 2015 - Winter FabFitFun Unboxing and Review

FabFitFun includes a magazine type product card:

Here is a closer look at the products included in this month's box:

EJH Diffuser - "Sugar Cookie" ~ $37.00. Make your winter scent-sensational! This beautiful glass reed diffuser adds a stylish accent to your home with five rattan reeds and a clean, eco-friendly fragrance.

This smells good, but I think I will pass it on - with my scentsy and candles, I have enough scents in my house (plus my cats would not leave the reeds alone!)

Juara Candlenut Body Creme ~ $35.00. Moisturize, soften and smooth skin with JUARA’s Candlenut Body Crème. This velvety, rich, luxurious body cream provides the nourishing benefits of candlenut oil and a powerhouse combination of hydrating ingredients such as Illipe Butter, Rice Bran Oil and Avocado Oil, all of which are rich in natural Vitamin E and essential fatty acids.

I love body lotions, and winter is no better time to stock up! This one smells great!

"The Donna Earbud" by Frends ~ $80.00. If you're like us, you'll be blasting holiday tunes all season long. Super chic earbuds.

I'm not sure that I would spend $80 on earbuds (but there are even more expensive ones on the Frends website). I will use these, but these aren't the most exciting item to receive!

Zoya Nail Polish in "Sasha" ~ $9.00. Your mani just got even more merry. And nothing puts us in the holiday spirit quite like berry-toned hues.

This is a pretty colour - very on trend for the season. As a nail polish lover, some people might not be happy about this but I don't generally love Zoya polish - I find it too thin for my liking, so I will probably pass this on.

Wine Stopper and Charm Set by FabFitFun ~ $15.00. Having a ladies night? Adorn the stems of your glasses with these little silicone dude. Then use the wine stopper to save your bottle for another night (that is, if there's any left).

These little guys are actually so cute for stems, but the stopper itself is kind of creepy!

Fingerless Gloves by Whitney eve x FabFitFun ~ $26.00. We're about to put the "love" in gloves! Designed in collaboration with one of our favorites, Whitney Port, these fingerless gloves are a winter must have. These babies are perfect for the gal who wants to stay toasty while texting!

These are really cute! My sister actually knitted me a pair last year, so I have to decide if I will keep these as back up or pass them on!

Dermalogica Travel Set with: Special Cleansing Gel, Multi-Active Toner, and Skin Smoothing Cream ~ $45.00. This travel set is designed to keep your skin at its best with a soap-free foaming cleansing gel, a multi-active toner, and a medium-weight moisturizer to smooth and balance.

I love Dermalogica products!! I like that this is a little bit of everything, and these are really good size items!

Gift Card for Sweet & Spark ~ $40.00. Oh la la! Want chic vintage jewellery right at your fingertips? Sweet & Spark has a curated vintage selection of picks from the 1950s-1990s that will fit perfectly into your winter wardrobe.

So, I checked out the website and they actually offer free shipping to Canada; but, I was not loving their items - they were quite pricey. The only items under $50 were clip-on earrings and brooches that were not quite my style. I won't be redeeming this!

Gift Card for Shoptiques ~ $25.00. Wish you could take a peek in a boutique across the world? Now you can! Shoptiques is an online destinations allowing you to shop the world's best boutiques. With more than 2,000 stores from all over the world, savvy shoppers will be spoiled with one-of-a-kind merchandise you can't find anywhere else.

So this website offers shipping to Canada at a reasonable price, but lets just say that $25 isn't going to get you very far - these boutiques are expensive! I will not be using this!

FabFitFun valued this box at $312, I would take a little off as I struggle with the giftcards being used towards the total value. In general, this is probably my least favorite box from FabFitFun to date. I'm happy with the lotion and the Dermalogica products, and I will use a few other products, but I will be passing the majority of these products on.

I actually cancelled this subscription after reviewing this box, I just do not want to spend $60 plus a crazy exchange rate to receive products that I'm not thrilled with. I'm thinking there is usually a lot of leftover boxes so I will check out the Spring box through other reviews before I make up my mind!

What did you think of the Winter FabFitFun box?
