This post contains referral links

Ipsy is one of the inexpensive beauty bag sample subscriptions. You receive 4-5 deluxe sample size or full size products each month. The cost is $10 US (+ $4.95 shipping to Canada).

Ipsy is generally make-up products with a mix of skincare, nail polish, and hair products based on a beauty profile you complete. There is usually 12-18 products that are selected from each month! You can view your "glam room" online that tells you all the products you will receive each month. You also receive a make-up bag each month with your products.

Ipsy always ships out in it's signature pink mailer:

Ipsy arrived sooo late this month (on August 31) - it seems that every time I get an add on point item, I am the last to receive my bag. I hate to sound like a whiner, but when people get theirs on the 14th/15th mine should arrive around then too!  Here is a look at the August Ipsy bag:

This month's theme is "Prep School". This month's bag is cute - I like the hounds-tooth pattern, but am not a huge fan of the material. Here is a look at the goodies inside:

I peeked earlier this month at what I was getting (I usually keep it a surprise), and I wasn't overly thrilled with the items coming my way. I will try and keep an open mind as I go through it all though - here is a look at the items:

Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Oil Treatment ~ sample size 20 ml for $5.61 (full size is 50 ml is $14.03). This treatment is a lightweight oil used daily for strong, glossy, frizz-free hair. Whether your hair is curly, straight, thick or thin, this Argan Oil Treatment will become a daily staple in your beauty regimen.

Created with Mediterranean Olive Oil and Moroccan Argan Oil – the ancestral beauty secret of Morocco – it deeply penetrates to fortify, protect and condition hair. Vitamin E and Shea Butter hydrate and soften.

I don't use a ton of hair products, so I'm not thrilled with this. I may pass this on.

Eco Beauty by La Fresh Group Good Night. Night Cream ~ sample size 15g for $12 (full size is 50g for $40). This highly natural La Fresh® Eco-Beauty® Good Night. Night Cream provides super hydration and restores your skin making it visibly smoother and plumper. It will also rescue your skin from fine wrinkles on the forehead and crow's feet around your eyes. Say bye-bye to damaging elements that age your skin and say hello to recovered, recharged, and youthful!

I received the day cream of this line in a past Ipsy bag and it is fabulous - you may have noticed that it may my favorites this month! This makes me excited to try this!

Doucce Ultra Precision Eye Liner in Black ~ full size $22. The Liner is an ultra precise moulded plastic eye pencil that provides a soft application that lasts. The smooth and velvety waterproof formula glides on easily for seamless blending.

I know that most people are like, ugh another full size black eyeliner - but I love it! I cannot complain about eyeliner as I wear it every day! I also really like that it is water-proof!

Lord & Berry Ultimate Lipliner in Nude ~ sample size approx. half size $9 (full size is $18). This ultimate lipliner is the original Lord & Berry lip pencil. It’s easy-to-use and its formula softens and protects the skin with the nutrients from macadamia oil and waterlily extracts. You can line your lips and fill them in using this pencil- finish with a lipgloss or lipstick or a more dramatic look.

This was an item that I was not happy about receiving; however, I don't have a lipliner so I thought I would give this a try and I actually really like it! It goes on smooth and is the color of my lips so it's great; I will use it!

Hikari Lipgloss in "Merlot" ~ full size $13. Check out Hikari’s collection of gorgeous, high-shine matte lip glosses. With these high-pigment lip glosses you can wear them alone or layer them over your favorite lipstick to create intense new colors. They will give you the perfect sultry lip with just the right amount of shine!

This color is described as an "Intense Red Mauve"and it is just not a color I will wear - I am going to pass this on.

I also cashed in 100 points for:

Klorane Smoothing and Relaxing Patches ~ $3 for 1 set. These soothing eye patches refresh, moisturize and brighten tired eyes. Formulated with a unique combination of cornflower to naturally soothe and reduce puffiness; arnica to drain the eye contour; and chamomile to refresh and provide anti-inflammatory benefits. Eyes are instantly brighter with bags and lines visibly reduced.

I love eye patches so I am happy to try these!

Ipsy came with 5 products (2 full sized), and a total value of $61.61. This is a really great value and although not all the products are great for me, this bag did come with a good mixture of items. I will use 3 of the 5 products; but, I was hoping more products would be matched for me, but fingers crossed for a better September!
