March 2015 - Birchbox Canada Sample Beauty Subscription Box Review

Birchbox is the original sample beauty box and has been in the U.S.A. since 2010 - and this is only the 4th month it has been available in Canada. It is $10 a month + $4.95 shipping to Canada (you can save money by signing up for a year for $100 + shipping costs). Each month you receive 5 sample (or full size) products based on a beauty profile you complete.

Birchbox Canada describes itself as:

"Five personalized beauty samples delivered right to your door each month. It’s the best way to find the products you’ll love."

(It should be noted that if you see the U.S. Birchbox - Canadian's receive different products. I hope this expands and we get access to all the products available to out American counterparts soon! I like that some boxes (such as Ipsy and Glossybox) offer the exact boxes to Canadians - I am hoping Birchbox does the same at some point!)

Here is the March 2015 Birchbox Canada:

I'm so excited that this month each Canadian Birchbox has a Beauty Blender in it!!

The theme for the March box is "Creativity" - Birchbox comes with a detailed product card explaining each item in it:

Here is a closer look at the goodies inside:
Beauty Blender & Blender Cleanser ~ $35. Pro-favorite sponge for smooth, natural-finish foundation
I am so happy there is a Beauty Blender in this box (mine just got tossed out last month)! Love this - you lightly dampen and apply your foundation! Honestly, this is the type of product I have been waiting for from Birchbox!

Fekkai PrX Reparatives Conditioner ~ travel size 2 oz for $5. Hardworking, lightweight formula that repairs fried or worn-out hair by boosting keratin.
My first thought it, why is there not a shampoo with the conditioner? I find this really weird - I can't be the only one that likes to use the same brands?! But on a side note, I received this conditioner in a past Luxe box and really liked it!

Temple Spa Peace Be Still Calming Body Balm ~ sample size 25 ml for $4.83 (full size is 150 ml for $29. Part skincare, part aromatherapy, this lush cream nourishes the skin and calms the mind.
The scent is interesting - it is a little strong for my liking but the lotion formula is nice! Good purse size, I don't usually complain too much about getting lotion as I use a lot of it!

Joie Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum ~ $4.90 sample approx. 5 ml (full size is 100 ml for $98). A Birchbox customer fave, this fresh scent blends mandarin, rose, and sandalwood.
I'm never thrilled to receive a fragrance sample as they generally aren't worth much - but I do like this scent so I don't mind.

theBalm cosmetics Read My Lips Lip Gloss in "BAM!" ~ sample size 0.08 ox for $4.40 (full size is 0.3 oz for $16.50). Fortified with antioxidant-rich ginseng, this gloss imparts rich color and loads of shine.
BAM! is described as a rose-pink. The color is decent and so is the formula - a little brighter than I normally wear, but still good!

Altogether I received 5 products (1 full size) with a total value of $54.13 - this is a very good value compared to the last few boxes! I like the products I received and am very happy for a new Beauty Blender! The rest of the products were good as well - there was nothing I disliked.

  1. I've always been curious about what Birchbox Canada looked like and you got such an amazing box! I'm waiting for the day I get a Beauty Blender in my box! I felt the same way about the fragrance when I got that in a box a few months ago!

    1. It was about time Birchbox Canada stepped it up actually! I was a little disappointed in the first few boxes that I received from them and had been waiting for a good box!
I have seen Beauty Blenders in a few bags - I think it is only a matter of time before you get one!

  2. You got the conditioner to my shampoo! Haha... I got a different brand but they sent shampoo and no conditioner. I thought it was weird too! I want to try both, not just one!
