Skin Proud - New Face Melt and Icicle Review

I'm always excited for skincare reviews here - I know they have slowed down a little bit over the past year, but I'm just trying to be thoughtful and not use too many products at once (so there is no waste and I can use a product up as well as so it's nice and gentle on my skin!)

I'm so excited to try out Skin Proud - I love their messaging! Skin Proud is all about embracing our skin - no retouching to any of their photos and they are actively campaigning to have retouching banned in the beauty community. You know we don't retouch here - I will always show makeup and skincare on my skin as is so you can see how it actually looks on a real person. They also have 100% vegan formulas and nothing is tested on animals. 

Another great piece is that they are bringing innovative formulas and boundary pushing products at a reasonable price tag - I love accessibility of products, and their line is available at walmart in Canada or online (they are a London based brand by the same owner of Ciate!) I was able to try a couple of newer products in Canada, and I'm intrigued and can't wait to try more from this brand! 

Skin Proud Face Melt - Gentle Hydrating Cleansing Balm ~ $17.97 CAN. Melt the day away with this hydrating, non-drying balm to oil cleanser that gently dissolves and removes make up and dirt from the skin. Infused with Hyaluronic acid, Ceramide and a blend of nourishing coconut oil and shea butter this cleansing balm not only cleanses but leaves skin feeling nourished and hydrated.

I love a cleansing balm - I double cleanse my face every night and highly recommend it. I wear SPF and makeup every day, so I need to make sure it all comes off. The first step of a double cleanse is an oil or balm cleanser, followed up by a cream or foam cleanser. This cleanser has hyaluronic acid, coconut oil and ceramide to help the skin while washing away the day - it is meant to be suitable for all skin types and great for everyday use! 

I really enjoyed this - the texture is fabulous, it stays and and solid in the case and melts in to the skin as soon as it's warmed up! I thought it removed everything really well - it worked great on my mascara, skin, but I thought it got everything off and worked well with multiple cleansers that I used as a second cleanse. I think this is a great cleansing balm (I don't love a potted package and like when they can make a balm in a squeeze tube, but it still easy to scoop out and use!)

Skin Proud Icicle - Cooling Eye Serum Stick ~ $16.97 CAN. Refresh and refine with Icicle cooling eye serum stick. Featuring a five-part hyaluronic acid complex, this cooling balm instantly freshens and tightens, whilst helping to lock in hydration for healthy under eyes. The unique balm-like texture can be used on bare skin or added over make up for an instant pick me up!

I am so excited about this product - I know not everyone likes a stick package, but I think it's okay when it's a product applied to clean skin (it does say it could be used for a little refresh over makeup, but I wouldn't want that left on the stick myself). This product uses hyaluronic acid, tocopherol, and cica extract to help improve the skin barrier and soothe the undereyes. 

I love that this is cooling - I have no idea how, but you swipe this on and instantly cool under the eyes! It's a great sensation, and honestly I tend to forget my eye cream sometime, so for me a product that is fun and unique to use is less likely to get over looked. It feels great in the morning to help brighten and wake me up and great to use at night time too! So much to use.

For the first couple of products from the brand, I'm impressed. These were effective and worked well - the price point is great and I love the branding and packaging! I can't wait to see what else the brand has to offer!
