I purchased this palette on my own
Oden's Eye is a brand I have not tried before, so I was excited when they announced that they were collaborating with youtuber, Angelica Nyqvist - I've chatted about her before and picked up other brand collabs that she's done! Angie is very much in to colourful looks, so I knew this was going to be a bright, great palette!
Oden's Eye is a Swedish brand and they typically feature their collections around Norse Mythology. So this collaboration is inspired by Hela, the goddess of death in Norse mythology. She represents death, and death also means new life. According to the legend, Hela's image is half a beauty and half a skeleton. They referred to the image of Angelica Nyqvist in the design to create the cover elements and the packaging is so lovely!
Oden's Eye x Angelica Nyqvist Hela Eye Shadow Palette ~ $59.00 CAN ($43.90 US). Angelica Nyqvist chose green and pink to shape the overall color scheme. The ghostly green and the warm hearted pink reflect the dualistic nature of Hela. You’ll be able to create versatile and contrasting exciting eye looks.
I love the mixture of pinks, yellows, greens and some purples - there is a good mix of shadows in the palette (mattes, shimmers and a duochrome included!) All of the shadows are named around the theme of the Norse Mythology and Hela inspired!
Rebirth ~ matte yellowish matte eyeshadow
Fluorescence ~ firefly-like light yellow-green shimmering eyeshadow
Underworld ~ ginger matte eyeshadow
Decay ~ taupe matte eyeshadow
Golden Bridge ~ golden diamond shimmer eyeshadow
Moss ~ grayish green matte eyeshadow
Venom ~ green diamond shimmer eyeshadow
Ouroboros ~ retro dark green matte eyeshadow
Wolf ~ matte tannish brown eyeshadow
Hela ~ matte baby pink eyeshadow
Hellfire ~ pink-orange shimmer, diamond shimmer eyeshadow with sparkles in multiple colors
Goddess ~ vintage rose matte eyeshadow
Double-side ~ multi-chrome eyeshadow, a unique color with multiple shifts of golden greens and pinks
River ~ multicolor diamond shimmer eyeshadow with light purple base tone
Soot ~ dark purple brown matte eyeshadow
Complete ~ silver diamond shimmer eyeshadow with black base tone
I was impressed with the shadow quality - the mattes were all blendable and the shimmers were all super impactful and applied well!
Here's a look at three eyeshadow looks I did with the palette:
For this first look, I wanted to focus on the pinks! I used Hela in the crease and under the eye. Then I used Goddess in the outer corner and Hellfire on the lid and inner corner.
I love the pinks in this palette and Hellfire is such a gorgeous shimmer shadow - this will easily be a go-to look from this palette!
Here's another look at the shadows - the deep pink was nice and bright, but I also love the bubblegum pink shadow. Overall, it's so pretty!
I wanted to use as many greens in this look as possible - so I piled them all on! I used Underworld in the crease, then I used Ouroboros in the outer corner and to deepen the crease as well. I used Moss to blend out the edges. Then I cut the crease and applied Golden Bridge on the lid and Venom on the middle lid. To finish the look, I applied Fluorescence in the inner corner.
Here's a look at the green look overall - the shadows are gorgeous and they all really pop on the eyes. The shade selection are all unique to my collection and these will be fun to play with!
Here's a better look at the cut crease - again, the shimmers are so stunning in this palette and I'm really happy with how this look turned out!
For the third look, I was going for a yellow and purple look! I used Wolf in the crease and Rebirth blended on the top of the crease. I used Soot in the outer corner and I applied River to the lid. For the inner corner, I used Rebirth with Double-Sided on top!
I loved the shade River - it's such a pretty shade of purple shimmer and it looks so nice when it's applied! After using Double-Sided on the inner corner this is a shade that I want to use more!
These shadows are all so pretty and I'm really happy with the looks I created. The shades were inspiring for playing with colour and creating new colour combinations. Overall, I'm really happy with this palette!
This is a limited edition palette because it is a collaboration, but it's still available now if you are interested in checking it out!
You look beautiful! I missed out on this palette (I love Angelica) but I just bought the mystery box at Easter. I can’t wait to receive it. I love the greens in the Hela palette.
