Winter 2014 FabFitFun Lifestyle Box Review

FabFitFun is an awesome quarterly lifestyle box! For $57.99 Canadian ($49.99 in the U.S.A.)  at the start of each season, they guarantee you will receive at least $100 worth of items. It is usually way more - the Summer 2014 had a value of $245 and the Fall 2014 had a value of $232!

I have been very happy with the FabFitFun boxes - this is one of my favorite subscriptions!

Here is a look at the Winter 2014 Box:

Looks like a good mix of stuff - FabFitFun always comes with a big fold-out product card that is very thorough!

Here is a look at the goodies inside:
Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive ~ full size $39. Juice Beauty’s bestselling, patented GREEN APPLE™ Peel exfoliates and refines to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and lighten hyperpigmentation. Delivers spa grade exfoliation revealing a brighter complexion while firming the skin. A Daily Essential for all skin types.

I love that this is for sensitive skin! The texture is awesome and I used this last night and really like it!!

Lather AHA Hand Creme with Evening Primrose ~ full size $30. LATHER's rich hand treatment contains alpha hydroxy acids - natural substances derived from fruits, sugars and various plants. AHA's encourage cell renewal that effectively minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and age spots. In addition, infusions of chamomile, combined with evening primrose and lemongrass help maintain soft and healthy looking hands.
This hand creme is good - the smell is decent. The scent is not too strong and it goes on super smooth!

Passport to Beauty Tibetan Goji Berry Intense Anti-aging Eye Serum with Retinol ~ full size $88. The Passport To Beauty Tibetan Goji Berry Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Serum marries East with West with a rejuvenating and advanced age-defying formula exclusively designed to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, stimulate collagen and elastin while repairing and restoring the delicate eye area.
FabFitFun calls this product a "must have for Winter". I will not spend $88 on eye cream, but I will happily use an $88 eye cream! This is a good product - it goes on super smooth!

yourMinerals Eye Shadow Duo ~ 2 full size eyeshadows for $44. The colors I received are "Swedish Winter Eye Shimmer" and "Brown Hypnotic Eye Glimmer". These shadows are long lasting, easy to apply, and mix-able. I have included swatches of the colors - I put these on fairly heavy so you could see the colors. I think these will work good, they go on nice and smooth.

Danielle Stone COCO Candle in "Mer Du Corail" ~ full size $42. Harnessing the remarkable properties of all natural coconut wax and a remarkably high 15% fragrance load, these innovative candles outperform any department store or boutique brand. Coconut wax not only provides the cleanest burn available, but is also the first sustainable wax resource to hit the market.  It is also cleaner burning than Soy candles.  The result is an amazingly clean-burning candle that never collects soot, exudes fragrance, and is truly ecologically responsible.
This smells good - I like it (I just normally would not spend $42 on a candle!)

Half United Fighting Hunger Necklace ~ $34. At HALF UNITED we’ve made a bold proclamation of our stance against hunger by designing the “Fighting Hunger” necklace. Each necklace incorporates three recycled bullet casing- representing your fight against hunger and putting your stance on display in a major way.
I love what this necklace represents - half of all profits go to fighting hunger. I like that I got a gold one - I like how bold this necklace is and think it would be a good conversation piece with a great cause behind it.

Zumba 60-min DVD "Max" + $25 Gift Card ~ value $55. *Originally this gift card did not work for Canadians; however, FabFitFun has sent all Canadian customers a new gift card that is valid at the Zumba Canada site.
I'm happy to receive a Zumba DVD (I love Zumba - such a fun workout) and there is some great deals on the website right now so I am going to get a pair of leggings!

Salted - 3 months of Free Membership ~ value $29.97. This website is described as "Salted TV is like the Netflix for cooking" and comes with lots of step-by-step tutorials to help you learn to cook.
This is a cool idea; however, it is not something that I will use. I am more of a pinterest recipe cook myself! So, I am not sure if this requires inputting credit card information and then cancelling? I will pass this on to someone who will use it!

Fashion Project Gift Card ~ $30 value ($8 shipping to Canada - so I value this at $22). Fashion Project allows you to shop pre-loved clothing and accessories, and a portion of each purchase goes directly to charity.
This site does not ship to Canada - so, FabFitFun sent all Canadian's an option: you can use the gift card and have the items shipped to the FabFitFun office and then for $8, FabFitFun will ship the package to Canadians. I have browsed the website and haven't really personally found anything I like so I probably will not use this coupon.

Sponsored Items
Organic Valley Organic Balance Milk Protein Shake ~ $2.99. Organic Balance is a delicious, organic milk protein shake perfectly portioned for a quick breakfast, a light snack, or anything in between. Made with a simple list of high-quality ingredients, it's the perfect shake to keep you energized while you're on the go.
This sounds good - I haven't tried it yet as it is in the fridge, but I'm looking forward to it!

Justin's Classic Almond Butter ~ $0.63. Introducing the world’s first ever Almond Butter. Wait, what? We’re not? Okay, scratch that. Introducing the world’s first ever incredibly delicious, all-natural, made with real California almonds and a secret nut grinding technique that we’re positive no one else in the World uses since we invented it ourselves, Almond Butter.
I like almond butter - this was tasty. I kind of hate squeezy food packets as you cant get everything out of this but, I got most of it.

Special K Snack Bar in "Salted Pretzel Chocolate" ~ $2.62. A yummy, "any time" snack you can feel good about - only 100 calories.
Mmm - anything pretzel and chocolate is good for me - it doesn't look like this flavor is available in Canada yet? just from the looks of the website.

So for just over $50, I received $390 worth of items (this is including the 2 gift cards and the online subscription). I love the value of FabFitFun boxes and they always include a great variety of items. I love the peel, eyecream, eyeshadow, zumba dvd and giftcard, and necklace! I like the candle and hand cream. The only things that weren't really for me was the subscription to Salted and the gift card to Fashion Project. Still even with not using those items, everything I will use had a great value!!

Here are two coupon codes for you:
TRYFFF for $10 off (I'm not positive if this still works!)
NEW5 for $5 off

If you sign up now, the Winter box is still available!
