New ELF Luminous Putty Blushes in Belize & Isla del Sol

I've been pretty impressed with the new ELF products that I've been trying lately - their putty blush formula was one of my Top Makeup Products of 2021 and I have the formula in a couple of shades so when I saw they were releasing a luminous formula in their putty blushes, I had to try them right away!

I purchased these products on my own - this post contains affiliate links

E.L.F. Cosmetics Luminous Putty Blush ~ $9.00 CAN. A putty-to-powder, buildable blush that adds a pop of color to your complexion, now with a subtle shimmer finish.

This is meant to be a lightweight buildable formula that melts in to the skin, offers a high pigmented application and a shimmery finish for a glowing complexion. It is also infused with argan oil and vitamin e for a boost of hydration.

I picked up two shades to try in the new formula - Belize is a peachy-rose shimmer and Isla del Sol is a bright coral shade!

The finish of these blushes was a little harder to catch on camera, but I did manage to get them in some direct sunlight just to show the shimmery finish - they are super shimmery and feel perfect for Summer!

Here is a look at Belize swatched on the top (first swiped and then blended in) and then below it is Isla del Sol (also swiped and then blended).

I also love that they kept up with naming them all after islands - it's cute and fits in with the original putty blush line!

Here is a look at the Luminous Putty Blush in Belize on my cheek - this applied pretty lightly (which is fine, it can then be built up) and it's a pretty shade. There is something about the luminous finish on my textured skin that seemed to emphasize some of my imperfections up close and make the finish look at little less flattering than the original formula.

Here is a look at the Luminous Putty Blush in Isla del Sol on my cheeks - I went a little heavier with this one after Belize applied so light, and you can tell this is a more pigmented formula. They do apply nicely and dry down to a smooth finish so they don't feel like they will slip around. Again, up close it does seem to emphasize texture and looks a little uneven on the cheeks.

I'm by no means saying this is a bad blush formula - just because something emphasizes texture doesn't make it bad, we don't need to shy away from skin imperfections and can still wear makeup if you like it. Here is a look with both Belize (pictured on the left) and Isla del Sol (pictured on the right here) and I think both are pretty shades and they do look nice on. I don't think the formula is as good as the original, but it's fun to have a little shimmer in there in the Summer time too!

Now, as Canadians ELF wasn't super easy to shop from before, but their website has vastly improved and while I can find these products at Shoppers or Walmart, their website is actually much more accessible with good prices, reasonable shipping and extra perks! If you have not joined the "Beauty Squad" I highly recommend it - this order where I picked up the blushes included two blushes and a concealer, and I only paid $6.20. I already have another 20% coupon and $12 in points to use the next time! It's super worth is, so if you are interested, you can sign up here! (this is a referral link and I would earn 15 points, but you never have to use my links or codes, always optional - I still would recommend whether I got points or not!)

What do you think of the Luminous Putty blushes?
