Skoah Retinol Concentrate + $10 off Coupon!

It's been a little while since I've talked about Skoah on the blog; but, it's still a brand I love! So, when they contacted me asking if I'd like to try their new release, I was very excited!

I have tried quite a few of Skoah's product line and I really enjoyed their masks, so when I found out the new product launch was a retinol, I was very excited!

I have tried to dabble in retinol in the past and I haven't quite gotten in to it - nothing wrong necessarily, but just hasn't quite worked for me. But, I had this struggle incorporating Vitamin C in my routine and it took me a few formulations and now I use it daily! So, I was happy to give it another try from Skoah!

Skoah Retinol Concentrate + $10 off Coupon!

Skoah +retinol concentrate ~ $55.00 CAN. Featuring skoah’s premium retinol complex at 1.5%. The product will be the ace of your routine as it also contains allantoin, vitamin c, and vitamin e!

Retinol is an antioxidant and perfect for restoring skin - it targets wrinkles, loss of firmness, uneven skin tone, and clogged pores. It is meant to target signs of aging and improve skin's appearance over time!

This product is also referred to as an ACE - in addition to retinol, it has 3 more ACE ingredients: Allantoin, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Allantoin is a new to me ingredient, and it is a calming agent that allows this product to be more suitable for a wider range of skin types. Vitamin C helps stabilize the product and both Vitamin E and C are antioxidants.

To use this product, Skoah suggests that you add this to your favourite serum or moisturizer, preferably use at nighttime as retinol does make your skin sensitive to sunlight, and you should be wearing an SPF every days.

It's also important to remember that you should slowly introduce your skin to retinol and start by only using it once or twice per week and work your way up to daily usage slowly. I personally have been using mine for about 4 weeks and am typically using it once every 2 or 3 nights - I will slowly work up to nightly use. Also, retinol usually can take up to 6 weeks to see results so stick to it!

Overall, I've been pretty happy with the formulation of this retinol so far. While some results take a few more weeks to see, I noticed a pretty quick result with active breakouts and pores and noticed an improvement with my use of this. Also, sometimes retinol can have "purging" where skin breakouts before it improves, and I didn't notice this with my skin using this product (I of course, can't make any guarantees with anyone else's skin).

The previous retinol I had tried left my skin feeling more dry and slightly flaky and I wasn't a big fan - so this one is quite gentle in it's formulation making it more accessible for a retinol newbie like me to use!
