Alright, you might know by now that I'm a total sucker for packaging and for Disney makeup collabs, so naturally I just had to pick a couple of products from the Makeup Revolution's I Heart Revolution x Disney Fairytale Books collection!
I purchased these products
But, like all fairytales, there has to be a dark part and these products are it - mind you, I only tried the highlighter and lip topper, but I would not recommend trying anything else in this line based on my experience with these products (and my experience overall with Makeup Revolution has been pretty up and down).
I honestly don't really like leaving "negative" reviews on here; but, there is some products that I try that I just have to share because the quality is is just not great and it's worth letting everyone else know so they can save their money for a better Disney collab!
This I Heart Revolution Disney Fairytale Books collection came with eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, lip toppers and lashes based on 3 fairytales: Cinderella, The Princess and the Frog and Beauty and the Beast.
Again, I only tried the lip topper formula and highlighters from the Belle line - here they are swatched on my arm.
I Heart Revolution Disney Fairytale Books Heart Highlighter Belle ~ € 8,99. The I Heart Revolution Belle, Beauty and The Beast Fairytale Book Highlighter, is a champagne gold powder that will leave you with a shimmering golden glow. Wrapped in a keepsake collectable case.
So, I will give credit, I personally think this little open book style packaging is adorable (and it's totally what drew me in). Unfortunately, if you see in the swatch above I found this to be super chalky, which made it look very stark on the face.
Here is a look at the highlighter on my cheeks - it just stayed on the top of the cheeks and looked so stark and metallic on the face.
I Heart Revolution Disney Fairytale Books Lip Topper Belle ~ € 5,99. The I Heart Revolution Belle, Beauty and The Beast Fairytale Book Lip Topper, is a non-sticky gold gloss with added sparkle. Wear alone or over the top of your favourite I Heart Revolution lip colour.
I thought lip topper would mean a more sheer lip gloss with a light gold glitter, but this is basically a thick gold glitter lip gloss, that's also glitter scratchy. It's a bit of a gloopy weird formula too.
Here is a look at the lip topper on - this formula is not my favourite and it might actually be the worst I've tried.
Here is another look at the I Heart Revolution Disney Fairytale Books Belle products on. Overall, I couldn't recommend these products, so I think you should save your money for a better Disney collab!
