Manicure Monday - "Negative Space" Squiggly Line French Mani

Happy Manicure Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend!

The OPI polishes were received as PR samples

I've been loving this Spring trend of colour pastel french-manicure-with-a-twist nails and some of the fun negative-space-squiggly-nails that I've been seeing everywhere, so I decided to combine the two for this week's mani! I'm really happy with how these turned out (even though I have no idea what to actually call this manicure!)

But, I don't like my naked nails with negative space manis, so I love this my skin tone nude shade as the base! And, the rest of the month of April, the CBB Mani Monday group is doing Spring nails - I think this is the perfect start for Spring 2021 manis!

For this week's manicure, the polishes I used are

For this manicure, I started with two coats of the Essie Buns Up polish as my base polish shade. Then, for the deeper shades of each polish duo (pink, purple, blue and green), I just used a small amount of polish on the brush tips to create a squiggly freehand line on each nail. Then, using the light shade of the duos and filled in one side of the line (no need to make the deeper shade perfect as some of these I went over with two coats to cover any mistakes!)

What's your favourite nail trend this year so far? As always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love to see their Spring nails!

  1. I also don't like my naked nails because the white of nails is very prominent, so if I do negative space, I either try to cover up the white part of my nail or use nude like you! I should try this squiggle mani! It looks fast and cute to do!
