Here's a look at what I was loving in April:
The Paula's Choice was received as PR and the Cheekbone was received for a product campaign - this post contains affiliate links
This month is rare because I do not often talk about hair products (my hair is pretty plain and flat so it always take something extra special to make me excited about hair!) and then I have lots of skincare with just a little touch makeup too!
Dyson Airwrap Styler - Volume + Shape ~ $649.99 CAN. The Dyson Airwrap hair styler applies the Coanda effect - to style hair without extreme heat. The Dyson Airwrap Hair Styler Volume + Shape is engineered to add volume and shape to limp, flat hair. Volume + Shape includes barrels to curl or wave hair, and brushes to smooth or volumize.
Alright, you know by now that I bought this a couple of months ago (and I will be honest, I got $600 off because I save all my PC Optimum points and cashed in the max during a spend your points event) and I have been waiting to use it so many times before I spoke about, so I still have a review coming to discuss all the attachments, but I absolutely love this thing! The dryer attachment is perfect for a quick post-shower bang dry and the curls turn out nicely. My favourite is probably this smoothing brush! It just works well and is gentle on the hair and is fairly quick to use! (Stay tuned - I will post my full review asap!)
Paula's Choice Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm ~ $28.00 US. A triple-action cleansing balm made with omegas 3, 6 and 9 to cleanse, soften and soothe while rinsing completely clean.
Okay, I've talked about a few cleansing balms in a tube, but if we are ranking that formula, this is the best I've tried! This is a new product from Paula's Choice and they seriously have never done me wrong when it comes to skincare - this is fabulous. The texture is smooth and does not separate at all, so it goes on creamy and removes all makeup, it's so good!
Kao Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+/PA++++ ~ $19.30 CAN. This updated version of Biore’s most loved UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel SPF 50+ PA++++ is powered by the innovative Micro Defense formula to prevent uneven application. The colorless essence forms an invisible waterproof shield on skin without feeling sticky. Hyaluronic acid, royal jelly and other moisturizing ingredients keep skin comfortable and hydrated. Excellent as a primer!
Alright, sunscreen isn't that exciting, but with all the crazy Korean sunscreen issues going on (basically, a bunch of brands that formulate their sunscreens in Korea have been tested and they don't meet the same level of SPF that is being advertise), so I'm really happy that I'm loving my Japanese made screen! But seriously, I raved about the original formula back in July 2016, and it was reformulate a couple of years later and it's such a lovely formula. It's smooth, absorbs quickly, wears well under makeup and offers serious protection! If you have been looking for a face sunscreen and haven't found your favourite formula, this one is amazing!
Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream ~ $25.00 US for 30 ml or $31.00 US for 60 ml. This gentle cream instantly calms and soothes sensitive skin. Star ingredients include Guaiazulene, a natural component extracted from Chamomile Oil with powerful calming effects, and Centella Asiatica that hydrates the skin and relieves redness.
I have been using this as a night cream or specifically on areas that need a little more love and attention - this has been nice and gentle, yet effective on my face and has just been a gently moisturizer overall for uneven skintone or feelings of irritation from make wearing, etc.
Cheekbone Beauty Sustain Lipstick in Aina ~ $32.00 CAN. Aina (EYE-NAH) is the word for land or earth in the language of the Hawaiian Islands. Meet Aina, an irresistible pop of colour. This bright coral is a trendy shade delivering a lightweight, hydrating, irresistible glow that lasts all day long. Layer once to allow your natural lip colour to shine through or build for the desired level of fluorescent coral. Explore your beauty in a whole new way with this game-changing shade.
I'm a big fan of the Cheekbone Beauty Sustain Lipstick - it was one of my Top 10 products of 2020! But, I had only tried a rosy nude shade, so when they launched some bright, Spring colours, I was very excited to try them out and very pleased that it was in fact, the same lovely, Sustain lipstick formula that I love - it is creamy on the lips and easy to apply. It's also not super matte or thick so you can layer depending on how much colour you want on the lips. It still adds a lovely pop of coral and it's perfect for Spring! I love this shade especially with a nice bright pop of coral! (You can see my review and the lipstick on me here!)
