Ever since Samantha Ravndahl announced at the end of last year, I knew I wanted to try whatever she released! We do not necessarily have the same makeup style; but, she is certainly one of my favourite youtubers and I think she knows makeup well and would release a great product!

So, when Samantha put out her Auric brand reveal video, I was even more excited! You can see the thought that went in to the products, packaging, etc - this isn't just some influencer brand that is quickly thrown together to capitalize on. I can certainly see this being a lasting brand. Auric means Golden Together and the brand really focuses on inclusivity - their vision is "we believe in accepting, encouraging and promoting all different versions of beauty. That’s how we grow (and thrive) artistically and creatively."
I love the vision of overall inclusivity, even down to the detail of naming the products. There face products are not numbered, so that no skintone is labelled as number 1, etc. Also, the naming of the eye products came from personality traits that can be labelled as flaws, or come with a negative connotation, but that shouldn't be looked at as that way!
I love it all, so naturally when these released in January, I picked up one of each product that were launched - Glow Lust and Smoke Reflect!
Auric Glow Lust Radiant Luminizer in Selenite ~ $45.00 US. For those who lust for luminosity. Packed with ultra-fine pearl and a skin-loving mix of squalane, glycerin and porcelain flower, this artistry-grade, adjustable formula gives you instant radiance and hydration. It can be worn alone, blended with your favorite skincare or used as a highlighter on top of foundation.
This is described as a radiant luminizer - it can be used as a liquid highlighter, but also mixed in with your foundation for an all over glow! Samantha is really in to liquid and creamy products, so I'm not surprised that there is a creamy face product at all!
This product is really big - it is 1.18 oz, which is bigger than an average foundation, so with the small amount of you will use each time, this will last a really long time!
The packaging is very luxe on this luminizer - it's a nice glass package with a pump and a very secure lid. I love the packaging - it feels very high end, and really goes with the "gold" feel. If I'm being honest, I forgot in her video about how tight the lid was and I could not get it off - I had to go back and watch the reveal video, so she's secure alright!
This luminizer comes in 7 shades right now and does have a very wide range! Also, this isn't a coverage product, so the shades will cover a whole range of skin tones.
I picked up the shade Selenite - it's the second lightest shade in the line and it's described as a "light warm beige".
This is a very heavy swatch just so you can see what Selenite looks like - it does offer a great glow!
I've used this mixed in with foundation (you will only need half a pump) - I used a whole pump and it was too glowy for me! I also used this as a highlighter on my cheeks, both applied with fingers and with a sponge and it's really pretty! It's certainly very glowy, as opposed to the super shimmery highlighters mainly on the market right now. I'm sure you could also use a little mixed with your primer or moisturizer too, or alone on the face, but I haven't used it that way and would think that a little goes a long way!
Here is a look at the Glow Lust in Selenite on me - I have this both mixed in with my foundation all over the skin, plus as a highlighter on the apples of my cheeks!
Auric Smoke Reflect in Temper ~ $39.00 US. A smokeshow in a jar. Heads will turn with these eye catching shadow duos. Create creamy-matte, or metallic-glitter looks with two luxe formulas (in a single gorgeous package). Under the top lid is a light-reflecting, micro-glitter eyeshadow infused with high-shine pearls. Inside the glass is a smooth, longwear, creaseless cream shadow.
I was really excited when eyeshadow products were announced in the initial launch and I love single eyeshadows that come in a special formula! This is actually two eyeshadows in one - it comes with a cream shadow as well as a topper formula!
The packaging of this shadow is also lovely - it comes with a glass base and it should help with keeping it airtight so the shadow doesn't dry up!
I do love the the packaging separates and it also includes a little mirror in the top shadow!
I picked the shade Temper, described as "Rose Gold"! I loved the shade and honestly, I feel the personality trait of temper so much; but, in me, I prefer to describe it as passion!
The top swatch is the micro-glitter shade swatched, the middle swatch is the cream shadow alone, and the bottom swatch is the cream shadow with the micro-glitter over top!
Here is a look at Temper on my eyes as a one shadow look - I have the cream shadow applied with a big brush all over the eyes and then I have the micro-glitter applied with a finger all over the lid! I love the look of the shadow and I'm super happy with this product! It's lovely!
And, here's the full look using both the Auric Glow Lust and Smoke Reflect - I'm really happy with both products! I fell pretty instantly in love with the eyeshadow - it doesn't crease, dries down and is absolutely beautiful. The highlighter is certainly a product formula that I had not really used before and I like it, I do think I need to play around with it a little more, but, on the first couple of uses, it is a nice product!
