Monthly Beauty Empties - February 2021

Time to look at my beauty garbage from February:

Some products may have been received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links

Moyra Stamping Nail Polish Top Coat ~ $7.99 US. All the way from Budapest, Hungary, the SP Top Coat is specially formulated to protect your stamped nail art to give you the long-lasting wear your nail art deserves.

This is hands down the best top coat for when you have done any art so it won't smudge - it's super thick and wears for a really long time! This made my Best Nail Products of 2019 and it is the best top coat I've used for nail art (plus, I'm incredibly impatient, everything but this will smudge on me!)
Repurchase: Already have!

This was a very shiny top coat - great for if I was doing single colours or nail wraps and gave a great shine, finish and wear length!
Repurchase: Maybe

Novelly Yours Nightlock Lipbalm ~ $3.00 US.

This came in a Novelly Yours candle box for The Hunger Games box - it was a fine lip balm and it was berry scented.
Repurchase: It was limited edition

Velour Lashes Lash Adhesive ~ $16.00 CAN. A lash adhesive made for luxury lashes, formulated with the highest quality ingredients to make lash application quick, easy, and flawless.

This wasn't a great lash glue for me, but I didn't really think that it helped the edges of my lashes stick, nor did it last long. I may have also used this when it's old, but it didn't work well for me.
Repurchase: No

Catrice Slim'Matic Ultra Precise Brow Waterproof Pencil ~ $7.99 CAN. The Catrice Slim'Matic Ultra Precise Brow Pencil with an accurate tip creates precise, hair-like strokes. Dual ended, ultra-slim retractable pencil.

This was a good, nice thin pencil that worked well - I just used this up in my 21 in 2021 Project Pan and it was good.
Repurchase: Seems to be unavailable now

Glamour Dolls Blending Brush #10 Sperm Whale Edition ~ $3.99 US. Work that crease with your new BFF our limited edition Blending Brush! When you apply your eyeshadow with this brush, you will totally WHALE it.

This came in a past Ipsy bag and I did like the small blending brush, so it broke and I have so many brushes I won't fix it. Also, this brand has gone pretty downhill after a failed Lise Frank collab.
Repurchase: No

XO Treatment Room Heavy C ~ travel size shown for $19.99 CAN (full size is $89.00 CAN). Heavy C is unique in chemical structure due to the ethyl group forming an ether with the 3-hydroxy group of the ascorbic acid, which results in much higher stability.

This made my January Favourites this year and I really enjoy this vitamin c serum - it's one my favourites and on that has been compatible with my skin! I have been using this every morning for months and it has been helping even my skintone!
Repurchase: Yes, already have!

Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm ~ $42.00 CAN. A PEG-free cleansing balm that smooths the look of skin with natural papaya enzymes, while melting away stubborn makeup, dirt, oil, and SPF.

This is a really great cleansing balm - this made my favourite in September 2020. The formula is fantastic - it removes everything, and leaves the skin feeling smooth and clear. I really loved this formula, but I have some equally great formulas that aren't in this dreaded pot! (I prefer a squeeze tube).
Repurchase: Maybe

Graydon Skincare Fullmoon Serum ~ $87.00 CAN from Graydon or $86.99 CAN from Well. Loaded with all your favourite actives that help visibly reduce signs of aging, Fullmoon Serum is what skin dreams are made of.

This serum is formulated with a ton of good ingredients - blue tansy, hyaluronic acid, vitamin c and more to improve your skin. This is lovely and has a very soothing scent, so it's really nice to use at night time. This worked really well to calm and sooth my skin while smoothing and refreshing (it made my Best of Skincare 2019 too!)
Repurchase: Probably

Marcelle Micellar Water for Normal Skin ~ travel size 100 ml for $3.99 CAN. The nourishing formula helps soothe and refresh your skin, while the micelles draw out dirt, makeup and impurities to reveal a clean, bright look.

This was a pretty good micellar water - I liked the mini formula. It's good, but it's not as good as the Bioderma if I'm being honest.
Repurchase: Possibly

John Masters Organics Overnight Facial Mask with Pomegranate & Moroccan Rose ~ $89.00 CAN. This Overnight Facial Mask contains natural exfoliants, such as pomegranate enzymes and fruit acids to brighten and smooth your skin instantly and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.

I love overnight masks - this one uses gentle pomegranate to exfoliate and konjac root and rose to hydrate and smooth the skin overnight! This one is nice and gentle and I did enjoy it. I thought my skin looked brighter, and it was refreshing.
Repurchase: Potentially

Reversa Retin[A]list Cream ~ $60.00 CAN. This performing skin care, which is 98% natural, contains 0.3% of pure retinol encapsulated in biodegradable microspheres for a controlled release during the day.

I have really been trying through the past year to get in to retinol - it just hasn't been working well for me. There is something about it that I just haven't been able to get it to work. It's nothing about this specific product, but it just too drying in my routine.
Repurchase: No

Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening Serum ~  sample shown (full size is $68.00 CAN). A potent, lightweight Vitamin C and AHA serum concentrated with smoothing pineapple juice and hyaluronic acid to brighten and even tone.

This was easily one of my Favourite Skincare Products of 2019 - this serum is fantastic!  It uses pineapple juice, vitamin c, and chamomile to brighten and even skintone and it truly delivers on these claims! This was just a sample, but I've previously used up a full sized serum!
Repurchase: Yes

Tatcha Violet-C Brightening Serum 20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA ~ sample shown (full size is $114.00 CAN). A 20 percent vitamin C and 10 percent AHA serum with pure ingredients and gentle strength that helps soften, smooth, and brighten for more radiant, even-toned skin.

This was a decent serum - it's quite a pricey serum, and I prefer to use my vitamic c and aha at different times in my skincare routine, so this isn't something that I can myself using long term. I didn't mind it though.
Repurchase: Not likely

Olehenriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum ~ sample shown (full size is $86.00 CAN). A powerful age-defying serum—with 15 percent vitamin C, five percent PHAs, and hyaluronic acid—that instantly brightens, visibly firms, plumps skin with hydration, and reduces the appearance of dark spots, pores, and wrinkles.

This was another sample - I'm going through my older vitamin c serums before reaching for my full size product. This one worked well too and made my skin look nice. Hard to tell it's effectiveness in a couple of uses, but I did like what I used.
Repurchase: Maybe

Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch x2 ~ $6.26 CAN (prices vary by website). Acne Pimple Master Patch heals acne, blemishes and prevents future breakouts quickly.

These are a holy grail in my collection - these made my favourites all the way back in September 2015 and I still repurchase consistently, and repurchase them in bulk. These clear up acne so well and so quickly!
Repurchase: Yes - I have plenty of backups

Herbal Essences Daily Detox Volume Dry Shampoo Crimson Orange & Mint ~ $3.98 CAN.

This dry shampoo was just okay for me - I thought it better when I repurchased it, but it was actually the naked dry shampoo - it was super affordable, which is amazing! And it doesn't leave a white cast, which is also amazing. Buuuut, I didn't think that it worked super great. It was just okay, my hair looked cleaner but not as good as other dry shampoos.
Repurchase: Probably not

Flexitol Rapid Relief Hand Balm ~ $8.99 CAN. Flexitol Rapid Relief Hand Balm is a richly formulated, nourishing blend deeply penetrates to provide effective, long-lasting moisturisation and rapid relief for very dry hands.

This was a nice, really thick hand cream that was perfect to use in the Winter time! I really enjoyed this and thought it added instant moisture and relief to super dry hands!
Repurchase: Yes, if I ever run out of hand creams!

The Body Shop Warm Vanilla Shower Gel ~ deluxe size shown (full size is $12.00 CAN). With sweet, creamy notes of coconut, toffee and warm vanilla fudge, it smells as Christmassy as sipping your favourite winter hot drink next to the fireplace in your toastiest pyjamas.

This is a limited edition Christmas scent - I love Vanilla scents, but I find this one a little too strong or floralish to be my favourite.
Repurchase: Nah

Mika Foam Soap Spray - Blueberry ~ $5.50. Mika foam soap spray turns boring bath time into fun time! Spray the foam to make silly shapes, bounce or have fun with the floating foam in the tub! Mild and gentle formulation.

This was a foam soap (I got one another one as a PR gift, so I thought I should talk about them) - I think this was a gift for my son, and he loved it! I tried it once, because it's actually so cute and it foamed up well and smelled delicious!
Repurchase: Yup

Clear Care Plus Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution ~ $19.97 CAN for a set of 2. Not only does CLEAR CARE® PLUS Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution clean and disinfect your contact lenses with the bubbling power of hydrogen peroxide, it also surrounds your lenses with long-lasting moisture.

This is a great contact solution - I switched to a hydrogen peroxide solution well over a year ago (with only one mishap of not letting it rinse long enough). This is at least a 6 hour solution so you can't wear your contacts the next day unless you have enough time; but, it's great! Much better at cleaning than regular solutions!
Repurchase: Yes!

Marvis Aquatic Mint Toothpaste
~ $10.00 CAN. Marvis Aquatic Mint Toothpaste has a sweet and cool touch of mint with the cool freshness of the sea. Alum powder based, it polishes the teeth smoothly without being harmful for the enamel or the gums.

This toothpaste is so good - I love how fresh this leaves my breath! It's super cooling and refreshing and I like a lot of the flavours, but this is my favourite.
Repurchase: Yes!

Acuvue Oasys ~ $63.99 CAN for a pack of 12.

Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism ~ $53.99 for a pack of 6.

Nothing exciting here - my go-to contacts, as I have pretty dry eyes and these help. One box is for each different prescription.
Repurchase: Yep

SmartMouth Original Activated Mouthwash ~ $26.13 CAN for a 2-pack. Patented zinc ion technology eliminates and prevents bad breath for 12 hours with each rinse.

I picked up this up because I've heard really great things about this mouthwash - it has two sides and it mixes as you pour it out to the cap and it's supposed to be special science to combat bad breath. I do really like this.
Repurchase: Yes

Lush Sugar Plum Fair Shower Scrub ~ $5.95 CAN. Reach the peak of smooth and scrubby sweetness with our packaging-free Sugar Plum Fairy.

I typically love the Lush scrubs - I found this one pretty tough - meaning that it hard a hard scrub and I prefer a little more gentle scrub. It was a little old too, so that could have been aprt of it, but it smelled great.
Repurchase: Probably not

Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar ~ $7.95 CAN. A sweet, bubbly treat for the tub that's packed with moisturizing cocoa butter and a candy-like scent.

This bubble bar crumbled really easily and lasted 4 baths - I love sweet smells and nothing bubbles better than a Lush bubble bar!
Repurchase: Yes, I would

Freeman Beauty Infusion Charcoal + Probiotics Cleansing Sheet Mask ~ $3.97 CAN. This concentrated serum-infused sheet mask instantly clears pores with activated Charcoal that gently draws out oils and toxins without over-drying.

This was a charcoal mask that was well soaked in essence and worked well! I wore it for 10-15 minutes like most cleansing masks, and my skin looked nice and refreshed after!
Repurchase: Yes, likely

Palmer's Coconut Water Hydrating Sheet Mask ~ $8.00 CAN. It is an infusion of coconut water, cucumber, and chamomile that provide a mega-moisture oasis to return skin to healthy, hydrated happiness.

I picked this up a long time ago in the States and was waiting to see if it would come to Canada, which I've never seen. This was pretty huge and only wore for about 10 minutes, so it just didn't do anything for me at all.
Repurchase: No

Sephora Collection Clean Eye Mask ~ $5.00 CAN. A bio-cellulose eye mask made from vegetal origin and formulated with 91 percent natural-origin ingredents that target specific under-eye concerns.

These eye masks adhered really well under the eye - I loved the bio-cellulose material and they were nice and cooling and refreshing!
Repurchase: Probably!

Face Food Animal - Panda Face Mask Skincare By 7th Heaven ~ $4.00 CAN. With a tropical concoction of nourishing Coconut, Banana and soothing Green Tea.

This was such a fun panda printed mask! It was a little big, but I still managed to make it fit quite well and and it wore for a good 20 minutes and made my skin feel very soft and hydrated after!
Repurchase: Yes, likely

Papa Recipe - Bombee Ginseng Red Honey Oil Mask Pack ~ $34.62 CAN for a 10 pack. Richly moisturizes and nourishes the skin with the mulberry paper sheet soaked with oil essence containing honey and red ginseng extracts, which help keep your skin moist and resilient.

I love the Papa Recipe masks I've tried, but my skin doesn't typically get along with ginseng in masks, but this one seemed okay. The material was nice and thin and it had lots of essence. My skin was moisturized, but this wasn't my favourite of the Papa Recipe masks I've tried.
Repurchase: Probably not

Dr. Jart Dermask Micro Jet Brightening Solution ~ $12.00 CAN. A microfiber sheet mask that instantly brightens dull and uneven skintone.

This was a nice thick materialled mask and it adhered well to the face - it had a good amount of essence and wore for about 30 minutes. I thought my skin was bright and clean after using this!

These masks are super soaked with essence and last about 40 minutes - they fit well and are so great on the skin! This one made my skin super moisturized and hydrated and smooth after using this!
Repurchase: Eventually yes

H & M Chill & Chic Refresh Sheet Mask ~ $3.99 CAN. Moisturizing sheet mask to give skin fresh radiance.

This was a limited edition mask - I thought it fit well and was very well soaked in essence and lasted about 40 minutes. It was fine - my skin was smooth and soft after.
Repurchase: Not available anymore

Peach Slices Magic Panda Eye Mask ~ $4.99 US. Packed with bamboo and peony extracts, this mask helps brighten, de-puff, and firm the eye area, so eye concerns disappear and radiance can shine through.

How adorable is this mask?! I love that it was a printed eye mask, but it was still a bio-cellulose mask! It was comfortable to wear (maybe a tad too small in the eye cutouts), but was refreshing and adorable!
Repurchase: Maybe

H & M Glow-Pro Luminous Sheet Mask ~ $4.99 CAN. Nourishing sheet mask for the face.

This was another limited edition sheet mask from H&M - again, the fit was good and it was very soaked in essence! It lasted a long time and made my skin hydrated and smooth!
Repurchase: Can't!

XO Treatment Room Calm Down and Wear A Mask ~ $10 per mask. Rose Water and Panthenol sheet masks to calm your cookies.

XO Treatment Room is a Calgary skincare/facial company and I've been pretty excited about their products this year - sheet masks aren't a staple product in the line up, but she has some there right now as holiday products. I picked these up on a Thursday special where Annie either releases sales or special products, etc. I quite enjoyed this mask - there was lots of essence and my skin did feel soothed and soft after wearing this.
Repurchase: Yes, I have a few more already

Biotherm Aquasource Aura Water Jelly Sheet Mask ~ $10.00 CAN. From the first skin contact, mask slowly melts and healing aura water penetrates deep into skin.

I love when the cellulose masks come in 2 pieces, so they fit really well on the face, which this one clearly did! This one was good, but I thought it was on a drier side (only lasted about 10 minutes) and left my face quite tacky after.
Repurchase: Probably not

The Body Shop Vitamin E Quench Sheet Mask ~ $6.00 CAN. Enriched with Community Trade organic aloe vera, natural-origin hyaluronic acid and wheatgerm oil, this mask locks in 24hr hydration and leaves skin feeling instantly softer, smoother and re-plumped with moisture.

I actually had used this mask once before, but it left my eyes and face tingling and itchy, so I wanted to try it again because none of the other masks by this brand! And, this was fine. It is a little big, but wore for the 15 minutes and was fine. It wasn't the most hydrating or smoothing, but it was fine.
Repurchase: Nah...

Mediheal Waterful AirGuard Foilab Mask ~ $4.00 US. Packed with powerful anti-aging ingredients such as bifida ferment filtrate, silver pearl powder, black currant extract, and honey extract, this mask will give your skin a refreshing glow.

I love foil masks as they typically help the essence absorb in to the skin. This one fit a little weird, but it did leave my skin nice and hydrated!
Repurchase: Maybe

Pixi Beauty Glow Boost Sheet Mask ~ $14.00 CAN for set of 3 masks. Give your skin the amazing boost it needs with this exfoliating microfibre sheet mask with 5% Glycolic Acid, Aloe Vera & Ginseng.
