September 2017 - Month in Masks & Mask Empties!

Masking is a huge part (and probably my favorite part) of my skincare routine! I try to use all types of masks as often as possible as I find they really help moisturize and improve my skin!

This post is a review of all the masks I use each month and mini reviews on all of them - I also consider the Month of Masks my Mask Empties post, because I do not feature my sheet masks in my monthly empties post! You can check out my past Month of Masks here

Here is a look at the masks I used in September:
September 1
Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask ~ $34.00. Leaves skin glowing and radiant thanks to Vitamin C and its AHA and volcanic stone exfoliation.

I love that these Vichy masks are only 5 minutes to use! This one is great - apply a layer to face, wear for 5 minutes, rub in with fingers to peel and then rinse off! I think it works great and my skin looked glowy and smooth the next morning! Love this! (If you want to see a full review on this, check out my past review here!)
Repurchase: Yes, I still have lots to use!

September 2
Acure Organics Brightening Face Mask ~ $9.99 US (also, $13.99 CAN on well.ca) Brighten up your day with the power of Moroccan argan extract and chlorella, a true synergy of rejuvenation. French green clay has a drawing effect and Moroccan argan oil and CoQ10 provide moisture.

I love Acure branding and products - this says to apply until you look like a green sea monster! So funny. But, besides the branding I love this rinse off mask! I think it's easy to use (maybe a little hard to rinse off), and it masks my skin look so bright and clean! I love this mask! This made my June Monthly Favorites and I posted a more detailed review here
Repurchase: Yes, but I still have a lot to go through.

September 3
Vichy Pore Purifying Clay Mask ~ $34.00. Cleanses and refines pores thanks to Kaolin and Bentonite clay, leaving the skin feeling purified.

I only used this on a targeted skin area - just my t-zone and where I was feeling a little clogged up. Again, these Vichy masks are a quick 5 minutes wear and this cleared up my pores!
Repurchase: Likely...

September 6
TIA'M Sebum Drying Black Bubble Pack ~ $20.59 US for 80ml on Jolse. This is a wash-off pack that transforms into tiny bubbles on the face to remove sebum and blackhead, tightening your pores for glowing and healthy looking skin. This mask uses charcoal to clear out blemishes, clean out the pores and adjust oil, and also albumin from egg whites help to tighten the pores.

I featured this mask on a Mask Wednesday post in September - you can check out my full thoughts here! I really liked this mask - it was deep cleansing and got rid of the last few blackheads and just freshened my skin overall! Really good bubble mask!
Repurchase: Most likely...

September 8
SNP Animal Tiger Wrinkle Mask ~ $1.50 - $5. Strengthens the vitality of skin, minimizes wrinkles and prevents the appearance of age. Softens rough skin, moisturizes and gives a healthy glow.
I think animal masks are hilarious - they are so fun to wear! This one is nice and bright and is clearly what it is supposed to be! This came dripping in essence (like almost too much) and had an extra handful in the package for me to apply first. This lasted over 30 minutes and was okay. It fit a little big, and I liked it but just didn't find it amazing on my skin.
Repurchase: Nah, probably not...

September 9
Lush Jelly Face Mask "Bunny Moon" ~ $13.95 CAN. Everybunny's a bit sensitive now and then, so if your skin's feeling a bit tender or sore, treat it to this gentle, gold-dusted mask. Loads of soothing, syrupy honey lock moisture into skin, while rose, chamomile and vanilla relieve irritation and leave skin feeling balanced again. There, there: you'll have calm, clear skin before long.

I love Lush masks and had to try one of the brand new Jelly masks! These are so cool - for a more detailed post check out my Skincare Sunday post! It was a really neat jelly texture and quickly smooths down to a creamy paste on the face. It didn't dry down tight on the skin; but, like most Lush masks did take a few rinses to fully get off. I really liked this and thought my skin looked good and calm after wearing it!
Repurchase: Yup!

September 11
Lush Oatifix Fresh Face Mask ~ $9.95. Sensitive, dry or irritated faces will love this yummy mask for its blend of soothing oats, softening mashed banana and ground almonds to soften and slough away dry, flaky skin. With a rich blend of illipe butter, sandalwood oil and glycerin to lock moisture into your skin, it'll leave your face feeling soft and dewy.

This masks smells like cookies - smells sooo good to put on and wear! I found this mask to be a little on the thick side, so it isn't the easiest to smooth over the face without having a few pieces crumbling off. But, I did like it - it rinsed off easy and made my skin super soft! (Plus, who doesn't want to smell like a cookie while wearing a mask!!!)
Repurchase: Yes, eventually!

September 14
The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask Rice ~ $3.00. The Rice Real Nature Face Mask offers you a dazzling, even complexion. Known for its brightening properties, rice extract helps reduce the appearance of age spots and illuminates the skin.

I rave about this mask every time I use it - it is probably my go-to favorite mask! It is affordable, accessible and really works to brighten my skin! Yes it has quite a big fit, but the amount of essence it comes with makes it easy to fold and smooth over to fit the face well. Works so well for my skin!
Repurchase: Yes, I always have a few on hand!

September 16
itibiti Yogurt Mask Pack ~ $8.00 for 10 masks. Extracted Lactobacillus fermentation from Yogurt which can help soften aging skin cells, while replenishing abundant moisture into your skin. The mask also helps to purify and brighten skin deeply with adding lemon and apple extract, leaving your skin supple and glowing instantly.

Okay, I hadn't even heard of this brand until I received this in my In8Beauty subscription recently and I looooved this mask. It is the softest material and adhered so well to my skin! It fit great and came with lots of essence - I wore it for over 45 minutes. It smelled amazing and made skin look really great! nice and brightening.
Repurchase: Yes!

September 19
Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask ~ full size is $225.00 (this is a sample size). The Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask offers the skin an instant youth effect. Rich in active anti-aging ingredients (Black Rose, Padina Pavonica and Alkekengi Calyx Extracts), it immediately gets to work on signs of fatigue and leaves the skin looking youthful and energized. It brings together three actions to restore a luminous complexion and re-densified skin in just 10 to 15 minutes.

This mask is a leave on mask - apply this  for 10 to 15 minutes and wipe off any excess or you can leave it on overnight. This mask is so soft and soothing and smelled so good! This left my skin feeling supple and refreshed and I really liked this overall!
Repurchase: Ugh, it is damn expensive! Whyyyy....

September 20
Biobelle #BeautySecret Face Mask ~ $4.99. Biobelle’s #BeautySecret sheet mask is your new skincare best friend – It tightens, brightens, and deeply hydrates the skin. The ellagic acid contained in the pomegranate peel helps the skin appear smooth and firm. Hyaluronic acid plays an important role in diminishing fine lines, and makes it more resilient every day.

The Biobelle masks use a material called tencel for their masks - it is super soft and light and fits the face really well. I thought this came with the perfect amount of essence, lasted over 30 minutes, and worked well. I'm not sure it diminished any fine lines, but it made my skin very smooth! (and, it smelled good!)
Repurchase: Most likely!

September 22
Skoah AHA Mask ~ sample $6.00 (full size is $38.00). A tingling peppermint infused mask to loosen and lift dead, tired skin. Contains alpha hydroxy acid, a natural exfoliator, from apples and grapes. Also contains plant extracts and sea kelp algae to hydrate. Great for skin that reacts to scrubs.

Skoah Klearity Mask ~ sample $6.00 (full size is $48.00). This mask helps provide 'klearity', err clarity. Great for blemished, oily, and acne-prone skin. Also an excellent preventative measure for hormonal flare-ups.

I mixed these 2 masks together (which I have done in the past too) because when I got a facial at Skoah, it worked so well! I mixed both together and applied a generous layer to my face and left on for 15 minutes, then rinsed off! I love the aha because it is tingly and pepperminty and the klearity works well for my blemishes! My skin looked AMAZING the next day - it was bright and clear. I love this combination.
Repurchase: Probably yes to both of them!

September 23
Etude House AC Clean Up Sheet Mask ~ $3.20. Fomulated Salicylic Acid, mask sheet made from bamboo fibers supplies soothing moisture and relief to trouble skin.

This fit quite big on me - I wish this had more tabs so that I could have gotten it to fit better. It was loose around the edge of my face making it hard to wear. The mask itself was just ok, nothing special on my skin.
Repurchase: No

September 24
7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques ~ $5.99. Ultra-softening foot bootie treatment with moisturising Shea Butter and Almond Oil to nourish dry skin and help repair cracked heels. Peppermint freshens feet and Soybean re-hydrates leaving them feeling ultra-soft and smooth.

Yes, foot masks count too! I don't use these enough, because every time I wear them, I love them! These ones are really great - they have good tabs that let you do them up tightly up top and can wear them for a long time! They were very hydrating and softening! Really great!
Repurchase: Yes!

September 25
Hiddencos Americano Mask ~ $15.98 US for 10 masks. Contains a Premium Arabica coffee extract from Columbia. It is rich in moisturizing and nourishing effect for the tired and dry skin with polluted external environment. It is vital and brightly managed. With Green tea extract and Portulaca extract and other various natural ingredients to make your skin soft to moisturize to relax your skin.

First this smells AMAZING - like wearing a Fall scented candle on your face! It smells like a spicy, toasted caramel pile of goodness! Yum! I just reviewed this on a Mask Wednesday post here (along with the Latte mask!) This had a dark brown essence, which was a little weird at first, but wore really well on the face and lasted almost an hour! It made my skin moisturized and refreshed! Loved!
Repurchase: Yup!

September 26
Hiddencos Latte Mask ~ $16.98 US for 10 masks. The premium arabica coffee extract provides rich moisture and nutrition to the tired skin. Anti-aging adenosine and whitening niacinamide tends the skin clear and elastic. Patented Phyto Oligo ingredient protects and tends the skin smooth with moisture.

I reviewed this on the same post as the Americano mask! I really enjoyed this one too. The essence was a little lighter, but had the same delicious scent! This was really moisturizing as well and I enjoyed it and it made my skin feel good!
Repurchase: Likely (I think I like the Americano just a touch more!)

September 28
Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask ~ $75.00 CAN for full size (sample size pictured here). A warming massage face mask that nourishes and revitalizes the skin for a glowing, smooth complexion.

This mask applies like a thick, sticky mask but changes as it is massaged in to the skin (and it is warming too!). My skin felt quite sticky after rinsing this off so I got a delayed benefits - the following day my skin was super smooth and felt amazing. I did feature this on a Mask Wednesday in the past and you can see my full thoughts here!
Repurchase: I will try it out more before I decide, but it was pretty good!

So in September I used 18 masks which was pretty good! I felt like this month was really heavy in wash-off type masks, so I will try for a little more variety next month!
