Mask Thursday - New Rodial Snake Oxygenating & Cleansing Bubble Mask Review + A Few Extra Snake Goodies!

Happy Thursday everyone! Okay, bubble masks are everywhere right now, so of course I have to try multiple masks! This one is really neat because it's actually a sheet mask and once you apply the sheet mask it bubbles up!

Rodial Snake Oxygenating & Cleansing Bubble Mask ~ $9.00 US each or $60.00 for 8 masks. This detoxifying bubble mask generates O2 bubbles to remove dirt, dead skin cells and excess oil revealing a brighter-looking complexion. Purifying bamboo charcoal deeply cleanses and unclogs pores for fresher, smoother looking skin whilst a rich blend of collagen, ceramide, vitamins a & e and peptides leave it revitalized.

This mask combines two of this year's hottest trends in skincare: oxygen cleansers and bamboo charcoal! I have featured skincare products using both of these ingredients multiple times on the blog, so the benefits are fairly well-known. Oxygen bubbles help deep clean the skin to clear out pores are remove impurities, while bamboo charcoal brightens and refreshes the skin for an overall clean, bright look! Of course, these two ingredients will compliment each other!

This mask is easy to use; but is is a little different than most basic sheet masks: wash face, tone skin, prior to opening the mask massage the package to help activate the ingredients, then apply mask to face, allow time to bubble up, wear for 10-15 minutes, remove mask, massage remaining bubbles in to skin, then rinse off, and complete skincare routine!

So, the mask comes out with only a few bubbles on it, then takes about 5-10 minutes to fully bubble up - this part feels so cool on the skin because you can actually feel the oxygen bubbles working their way in to the skin! I love that feeling - you can actually feel the mask deep cleaning the skin!

I thought this mask worked well - my skin felt really clean and bright right after using it. It cleared out my pores on my nose and cheek area and the results were still very noticeable the following morning. My skin was clear of oil and refreshed! I really enjoyed this - it is not just a gimmicky mask at all!

Have you tried any of the oxygen masks yet? What do you think of the trend?

Annnd, just for good measure I thought I would add a Skincare Sunday post to my Mask post! This weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada, so you are getting my skincare post a little early as I will be busy with family all weekend!

I thought in addition to a look at the Rodial mask, I would share some quick reviews on a few other goodies in the Rodial Snake line! The Rodial Snake range is an anti-aging range meant to focus on smoother, younger looking skin! The Snake is actually "Syn-ake" meant to mimic the effects of venom from the temple viper for a smoother complexion!

Rodial Snake Eye Cream O2 ~ $95.00 US. Instantly tighten and firm the appearance of laughter lines and expression lines around the eyes with this powerful eye cream. Containing a double shot of our unique Syn®-Ake dipeptide, this lightweight yet velvety texture cream provides an energising sensation to the eye area to help cool and de-puff. Addition of Vitamin C also works to help lighten appearance of dark circles.

I love the pump top and it actually only pumps out a tiny amount - which I will say is actually good! This little drop is basically what you need, so I find it irritating when pumps push out too much product and it feels wasted! So, while this is a pricy eye cream, this bottle will last forever! It is a very lightweight eye cream and I liked that it brightened and worked for dark circles. Personally, I only have the early stages of lines around my eyes, so I can't generally speak whether these work to diminish lines, but I always use an eye cream for prevention and this one is good for me!

Rodial Snake Serum O2 ~ $162.00 US. Instantly boost complexion glow and bounce with this oxygen serum of skin firming and revitalising complexes. The fast acting oxygen carrier helps to restore the look of youthful, healthy radiance to tired and lacklustre looking skin as it helps to increase cell respiration. The formula works to purify and detoxify the skin, protecting the face from pollution and free radicals. Also contains our unique Syn®-Ake dipeptide, a wrinkle freezing ingredient which mimics the effects of the Temple Viper Venom by smoothing the skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This serum is a really lightweight - almost gel-cream texture which I love! Again, this pump top is great and I love the packaging of these Snake products! The branding of the line is so fun! (plus, the have a Bee Venom, Dragon's Blood line ect - they have great packaging and branding for all of these!) I did think that this worked good for the time I have been using it, but I haven't been testing it long enough to say whether or not it is worth $162 - that's expensive! So far, I do think it's a good serum - my skin looks bright and healthy; but, chances are there is an anti-aging serum that will work for less money!

Have you tried any Syn-ake products before?!

  3. I still haven't tried a sheet mask, but I've heard so many good things. Charcoal is one of my favourite things when my chin is looking super congested (re: all the time!)
