Skincare Sunday Halloween Prep - Double Cleanse With Dermalogica NEW PreCleanse Balm + a GIVEAWAY!

Happy Skincare Sunday everyone! I have been busy prepping all month with Halloween makeup looks. But, one thing we don't think about is how are we going to take off all that Halloween makeup off at the end of the night! 

Did you see my recent Glam Panda, or last year's Unicorn, Leopard, or Doll makeup looks?! (If you haven't thought of a Halloween look yet, you can use these as some inspiration!) But all of these looks were really makeup heavy and some were really hard to wash off (especially all the black around the eyes of the panda look).

This year in preparation for Halloween I had to practice my Daenerys Targaryen makeup, and Dermalogica uses a double cleanse system that is perfect for helping to clear off every last bit of that Halloween makeup! They have a new PreCleanse Balm for the double cleanse system now too!

Dermalogica PreCleanse Balm - Balm-to-Oil Emulsifyer ~ $62.00 CAN for 90ml or $21.00 CAN for 15ml. Deep-cleansing balm-to-oil melts away impurities and make-up from skin. Achieve cleaner, healthier-looking skin with the Double Cleanse regimen that begins with PreCleanse Balm.

This is a new, balm-to-oil version of the precleanse oil - this first step of the double cleanse system works to break down sebum, make-up, pollutants, and product buildup on the skin. This helps the cleanser step to thoroughly clean the skin, delivering better results all around! 

I'm really looking forward to trying out the cleansing balm - they have been on my wish list for a while, so I am excited that Dermalogica has introduced one to their product line! I am also a big promoter of the double cleanse system - it was first introduced to me through the k-beauty skincare routine, so I am happy to see it in Western beauty products as well! 

The PreCleanse Balm comes with a Cleansing Mitt to help deep clean the skin! This product is suggested for normal to dry skin and is safe for use on eye makeup too! In fact, this should help break down waterproof make-up! (If you have normal to oily skin, then the original precleanse oil may be better suited for your skin type!)

To use: apply balm directly to the cleansing mitt or to bare hand, apply product directly to dry skin and massage in using circular motion, add water to emulsify and massage in, then rinse off. Next, follow up with your prescribed Dermalogica cleanser and complete skincare routine. I used the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel - this is a gentle, soap free, foaming cleanser made for all skin types! 

This whole double cleanse system worked really well for me - the balm worked to breakdown and remove my makeup (including contour, waterproof mascara, and lots of brow products!) and then the cleanser was really gentle on the skin! Overall, my makeup was fully removed and my skin felt really clean but not dry at all.
