August 2017 - Monthly Empties!

Time to look at my garbage (beauty garbage of course, so it's more glamorous!)

Maison Jacynthe Mascara ~ $33.00. Natural intense black mascara for a sublime eye-makeup look. Formulated with clary sage water, to hydrate and protect your lashes. The mascara has a silky texture and is highly pigmented. Its thin brush gives you a precise application and provides volume. Ideal for a more intense look. Long-lasting thanks to its exclusive formulation. 100% of ingredients from organic origin.

I really enjoyed this mascara when I was first using it - it has a super skinny wand so it can get everywhere! The formula was a little wetter than I prefer, but it did lengthen and define. It was a tad clumpy but nothing a little brush can't fix! But, once it got near the end it did end up getting really flaky on me so I knew it was done! I did a whole review of this mascara if you want to check it out here
Repurchase: Mmmm... overall, it was good but not my favorite so not likely..

Lorac Pro Plus Fiber Mascara ~ $24.00 for full size - travel size shown here. Go PRO with Lorac PRO Plus Fiber Mascara! This buildable, volumizing and lengthening formula is packed with PRO power. Loaded with nylon fibers that cling to your lashes like mini extensions, PRO Plus Mascara helps lashes curl up, look noticeably longer, distinctly lusher and instantly fuller. The super-size PRO brush easily grabs each lash from root to tip and corner to corner for a luxurious, faux-lash look. Clinically tested and proven to increase lash volume by 2100%!

I can easily say that this did not increase my lash volume by 2100% - not even close. The only thing this mascara did was totally clump up my lashes. It was not good. I tried it twice and then remembered my philosophy of "life is too short for bad mascara" and chucked it.
Repurchase: Nope

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara ~ $30.00 for full size - travel size shown here. A jet-black, volume-packed mascara so anyone can master the tarte of the fringe.

This might get the crappiest mascara packaging award - now, I don't know if the packaging is the same for the full size mascara; but, the travel size package is not a twist bottle - it pops on and off. It makes such a mess and clumps up all around the top. So messy. The formula was just meh - it was a little too wet and too clumpy for me.
Repurchase: No

Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover ~ $20.00 for travel size 1.7 oz. An award-winning, gentle, liquid eye makeup remover.

This was not very good personally - it did not take off my mascara and I had to follow up with a different makeup remover. It was also too oily for me. Blah.
Repurchase: No9

Ladykin Vanpir Dark Repair Cream ~ $15 US. LadyKin Vanpir Dark Repair Cream is especially designed to suit all skin types. Its formula stimulates skin' s metabolism. Its formula stimulates skin's metabolism. It easily absorbs into skin to give moisture and suppleness witout being greasy. It helps to reduce wrinkles, freckles and blemishes, and remove fine lines. Clearing facial spots, it whitens skin and contracts expanded pores. It improves the skin condition, supplies the faint skin deep protection and makes the skin recover brilliance and moisture. It will give you velvety softness and youthful appearance.

I love this cream - it is so good! I reviewed this a while ago - you can see my full thoughts here and it made a past Monthly Favorites! It is a thicker cream so it's not a great day cream, but I love it before bed as a night cream!
Repurchase: Yes, I would!

RiRe Capsule Mask Pack "Moisture" ~ $25.16 CAN approx. Spray type which forms a protective film on skin to block external toxic elements while providing moisture and nourishment at the same time.

I think mists are one of my favorite steps in my skincare routine and I loved this one! These RiRe packs are hard to find (I had to get this one is a makeup swap) but I will be looking because this made my Monthly Favorites a while ago! This is actually a thicker spray and it was very moisturizing!
Repurchase: Yes, hopefully I can find it again!

Lush Yummy Mummy Shower Cream ~ $19.95 for 250 ml ($9.95 - $29.95). This pretty purple shower cream will have you turning heads (and noses!). Geranium oil, Brazilian orange oil and tonka absolute are expertly blended together to create one of our most intoxicating, yet delicate, fragrances. Fruity, sweet and full of fair trade organic cocoa butter, Yummy Mummy will leave skin unimaginably soft and smelling like juicy strawberries. It’s well deserving of its name!

I love this Yummy Mummy shower cream so much - it smells amazing and I love the shower cream texture because it is thick and moisturizing! This is always a limited edition scent for Mother's Day so I scoop one up every year!
Repurchase: Yup, already have a backup to get me through to the next Mother's Day

Joe Fresh Cotton Pads ~ $2.00.

I always say that these are just good; but, once you use a really crappy cotton pad, you realize that these are actually really good! Really good! The only ones that work well for my nails and eye makeup!
Repurchase: Yes

Diamond Wipes Gentle Cleansing Makeup Remover Wipes ~ $?.

These are just hotel makeup removers - it worked, but I have certainly used better.
Repurchase: Nah...

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ~ $25.00 - $57.00 for full size - sample size shown here. A fast-absorbing body cream that helps tighten and smooth the look of skin.

First things first, this smells AMAZING! Seriously, amazing! I mean it's a good lotion, but I didn't think it was life changing to spend $57 on a lotion! What I plan on doing though is picking up the Fragrance Mist so I can smell like this all the time!
Repurchase: Not the lotion!

ToGoSpa Green Tea EYES ~ $12.50 for 3 sets of eye masks. Green Tea Eyes - The Energy Drink For Your Face.Taurine and Green Tea Extract promote circulation for that extra tingly stimulation. Excellent for dark circles.

It's no secret that I love masks - and eye masks are a total godsend after having a baby and losing a lot of sleep at night now! These ones are great for dark circles! If you want to see a full review on these, you can check out my thoughts here and these made my May Monthly Favorites
Repurchase: Yes!

Sensodyne Toothpaste - Deep Clean ~ $4.99 for full size - travel size shown here. Sensodyne is specially formulated to relieve sensitivity. When enamel is worn away or gums recede, the dentin underneath becomes exposed. This can lead to sensitivity pain, for example, with hot and cold drinks. Deep Clean works inside the tooth to help calm the nerves for 24 hours and leaves a long-lasting sensation of freshness with foam boost technology.

I actually have sensitive teeth and didn't think this did much at all - meh. Not my fav.
Repurchase: Not likely

Crest Complete Toothpaste Whitening Plus Scope - Minty Fresh ~ $3.99. Whitens teeth by removing surface stains. Fights cavities. Fights tartar. Freshens breath.

This was fine - toothpaste isn't the most amazing thing either way. I liked this.
Repurchase: Probably

Bausch & Lomb Renu Fresh Solution ~ $6.99 for travel size. Clinically proven ingredient removes protein. No protein buildup means clean contacts and clear vision. Unsurpassed in fighting germs so patients wear contact lenses with confidence.

I usually use the Bausch & Lomb sensitive eyes, but this is easy to travel with and we have been all over the place this Summer, so travel size is perfect!
Repurchase: Yes

Radius Tour Travel Toothbrush ~ $5.99. An innovative solution to maintaining your oral care on the go, the Tour™ Travel Toothbrush gives you the same deep clean you’ve come to expect from RADIUS®, but with unique hide-away functionality that allows you to remove and store the brush head. It’s truly the ultimate in-transit must-have.

This was good in theory - I love that this folded in on itself and made it perfect for travel, my baby bag, etc. But this toothbrush was a little too hard for my liking - it just hurt my gums a little bit.
Repurchase: Not likely...

This is the best mouthwash ever - I hate mouthwashing (is that okay to admit here?!) but this one doesn't taste quite as terrible burning as the rest!
Repurchase: Yes

Exact Moisturizing Shave Gel ~ $2.99. Sensitive skin.

I always just buy what's on sale, and I usually pick up the Exact brand - I like this one and the raspberry scent!
Repurchase: Yes

Coppertone SPF 60 ~ $12.99.

This is pretty good - clearly from this picture I buy a lot of Coppertone. It's affordable, accessible and works well. SPF 60 is good for the really sunny days.
Repurchase: Yes

Coppertone Sport Sunscreen Lotion - SPF 30 ~ $6.99. Coppertone Sport Sunscreen SPF 30 provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunburn protection. This sport sunscreen bonds to skin on contact and won't run into eyes and sting. Also, this waterproof and sweatproof sunscreen won't affect grip, so athletes can practice their favourite sport in confidence. The formula is waterproof upon application and it retains SPF after 80 minutes of activity in the water or sweating.

I like the sport suncreens too - these are good for days at the beach, when you're sweating, etc.
Repurchase: Yes

Coppertone Sensitive Skin Faces SPF 50 ~ $12.99.

This used to be my go-to face sunscreen (until I switched to the Biore sunscreen) - this is great for my husband. I like the face specific lotions because I think they help keep blemishes away.
Repurchase: Likely

Ombrelle Complete Extreme Sunscreen - SPF 30 ~ $15.99.

This was just okay - it's sunscreen, it works; but, it wasn't my favorite. I think it's a little more expensive and not a better formula.
Repurchase: Probably not

Lush Baa Bar Bubble Bar ~ $7.95. This adorable bubble bar's tranquil perfume has a sleep-inducing effect on anyone who smells it, so you can forget about counting sheep. Instead, tuck into a blanket of soothing clove and rose bubbles before bed to help you drift off to dreamland.

I loved this bubble bar - it smelled so good! It was nice and relaxing and had so many bubbles and made this lovely light purple bath! Loved this! Too bad it was a Mother's Day release!
Repurchase: I hope they bring it back next year!

So, in August I used 22 products which is good! There was a lot of products this month that I either loved or hated! As usual, it was heavier in the personal care/skincare department, but I love going through everything and seeing what was good! I hope you like reading these too!
