April 2017 - Month in Masks & Mask Empties

Masking is a huge part (and probably my favorite part) of my skincare routine! I try to use all types of masks as often as possible as I find they really help moisturize and improve my skin!

This post is a review of all the masks I use each month and mini reviews on all of them - I also consider the Month of Masks my Mask Empties post, because I do not feature my sheet masks in my monthly empties post! You can check out my past Month of Masks here

Here is a look at the masks I used in April:

April 2
Dragon's Blood Fix Plumping Mask ~ $14.95. An intensely hydrating gel mask combining multiple skin perfecting complexes to plump the look of wrinkles and refine the skin's appearance for a brighter, more youthful looking complexion.

This mask can be used as a rinse off mask or as a night mask as well - I love when I can use my masks as dual purposes! This has a nice cooling effect on the skin and was a really nice light gel. It didn't dry or harden on the skin making it easy to rinse off! It was a little sticky, but made my skin feel good! You can view a past Skincare Sunday review here if you are interested!
Repurchase: I will keep trying it out before I decide!

April 4
Innisfree Skin Solution Mask "Hydrating" ~ $2.07. Mask pure cotton, not through bleaching. Hyaluron is concentrated with high moisture. Dry and rough skin moisturised.

Hands down, this sheet mask material is my favorite! This is my last of these skin solution masks from Innisfree and I have to buy more of them! I'm actually a little sad that this is my last one. This mask is great and made my skin very hydrated and soft!
Repurchase: Yes!

April 5
Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques ~ $5.99. Say goodbye to rough, dry hands… Our Softening Glove Masques provide rich moisture using softening Shea Butter to help treat rough, dry and chapped hands. We’ve also popped in pressed Rose Petals for a deliciously floral fragrance you won’t be able to resist!

I love using hand masks - it's not something I remember to use very often! These look like they will be huge but end up fitting quite well. These worked well too and made my hands feel very soft! I reviewed these on a Mask Wednesday post - you can check it out here
Repurchase: Probably

April 6
The Face Shop Sparkling Wine Face Mask ~ $3.00. Formulated with sparkling water and grape ingredients for resilient skin.

This mask was okay - it didn't fit amazing. It did have a good amount of essence so it lasted a while and made my skin feel fine. It was good, but nothing amazing.
Repurchase: Not likely

April 8
Lush Cup O' Coffee Face And Body Mask ~ $19.99 for 325g (also, $10.95 for 150g). If you're a sucker for the strong, scrubby, stimulating type, this coffee-filled mask is just the thing to kick-start your day. Wake up and invigorate your skin and mind with the rich, intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sweet roasted cocoa extract. Kaolin deeply cleanses impurities from the pores and ground coffee acts as a gentle scrub to buff away dryness and reveal glowing skin beneath. Smooth this one all over your body to feel soft, clean and wonderfully fragrant.

Seriously nothing better than using this face and body mask pre-shower in the morning and perking up from the strong coffee scent and exfoliating mask! Love this - I have posted a full review here you can check out, but this is gentle enough for your face but strong enough for your body. So good!

These were fun - totally soaked in essence and lasted an hour on my feet! But, they were actually quite warming and it got a little uncomfortable near the end. Like the tops of my feet were hot and felt a little tingly. They did make my feet feel great though!
Repurchase: Foot masks yes, this brand probably not...

April 12
Lush Cup O' Coffee Face And Body Mask ~ $19.99 for 325g (also, $10.95 for 150g).

Repeat from a few days ago - see above!

April 12
The Creme Shop Calm Down, Skin! Kitty Face Mask ~ $4.00. Refresh with a cat nap and a cat mask. Infused with pink grapefruit, this calico cat is rich in lycopene to heal inflammation and sun damage.

This is supposed to be a cat - yes it is terrifying, but you know I love my scary animal sheet masks! This had a ton of essence but got too tingly and weird feeling on my face so I took it off within minutes. If you want to see more, I did post a full review here.
Repurchase: NO

April 13 & April 16
Lush Rosy Cheeks ~ $12.95. Find the happiness you seek by cleansing cheek to cheek with this gorgeously soothing fresh mask. A simple blend of kaolin, calamine and Turkish rose oil delicately calms the skin and restores balance. Whether you're feeling hot and bothered or just love showering your complexion with roses, cleansing calamine and kaolin will gently remove dirt while exquisite rose oil nourishes and tones your face. Calm, matte skin, here you come!

Yes... I used this twice in a row! This smells so good, obviously like roses but it is a nice subtle smell that is not overwhelming! This applied nice and light on the skin - it dried on the skin, but was not too hard to rinse off. I was advised by a Lush staffer that this could be a little drying on dry skin, and I found the first time it was a little drying, but made my skin feel calm and clean.

So, for the second use, I applied a serum to the skin before applying the mask and it worked amazing on the skin!
Repurchase: Yes, likely!

April 17
Tony Moly Panda Dream Eye Patch ~ $3.15. Improves dark circle 60g's the most suitable for eye skin - strong adherence black sheet - it makes the eye area brighter after use.

Let me introduce you to the scariest eye masks in the world - panda eye patches! Not only are these terrifying, they are actually really hard to wear. The shape is weird and they didn't have a great amount of essence so they did not adhere well to my face. They dried out quickly and were pretty crappy overall.
Repurchase: No

April 18
Urban Dollkiss Welcome to Korea Skin-clean Mask ~ $2.24 (7 masks for 14000 won/$15.72 CAN). Hanging to dry and crumbly to cultivate various fruit extracts and hyaluronic acid condensation skin brimming with vitality vitamin nutritional ingredients to the skin is clean skin mask pack. (this may not be great translation as it is from google!)

This is a funny mask - I like that it looks like money. The mask itself was quite dry so it did not adhere well to my skin at all! Plus it huge to top it off making it even harder to where. It did not have enough essence and dried up pretty quickly. Meh... nothing great..

Repurchase: No

April 19
The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask "Peony" ~ $3.00. The mask sheet drenched in a smooth serum with oil with the vibrant life energy of Peony provides skin with illuminating radiance. Formula is without added parabens.

This mask fit big (like all masks from The Face Shop) but it had enough tabs and enough essence that it adhered well to my face. This lasted about 30 minutes on my face and made my skin feel really refreshed! This smelled a little floral, but overall I liked this - you can check out my full review here
Repurchase: Yes

April 26
Holika Holika Before & After Mask Sheet "After Night Overtime" Review ~ $3.00 CAN. This mask sheet contains vitality essence (peppermint, chamomile, acerola, blueberry). It improves dull skin after night overtime.

Alright - I had a week off because of baby! But I needed to get back in to masking, and how appropriate is this mask?! This mask packaging is great, but the mask itself is HUGE! Holy, but it had enough tabs and was well soaked in essence that I was still able to wear this for 45 minutes. It worked well and brightened and hydrated my skin.

April 28
My Beauty Diary 2-Step Africa Hydrating Pack ~ $2.36 (pack of 8 for $18.90). Two-step hydrating treatment replenishes lost moisture and then seals it in for prolonged softness and suppleness with renewed vitality. First step is to wear the moisturizing mango mask on clean and dry face, leaving it on for 20-30 minutes to allow skin to fully absorb the concentrated beauty essence. After removing mask, pat in remaining essence and then massage the emulsion to lock in moisture for round the clock comfort.

So, I know that there some people that are huge My Beauty Diary fans, but overall they aren't my favorite. These are the biggest fitting mask ever - you can hardly wear them! There was sooo much essence on this mask that it was dripping - dripping in to my eyes, mouth, all over my shirt. I couldn't wear this for very long it was just blah. Oh ya, then you apply the second step essence.
Repurchase: NO

April 30
Maskingdom I Wish "Having A Baby" Mask ~ $7.00. Trying to hard to get pregnant? The mask of Ylang Love essential attributed to its properties as an antidepressant and aphrodisiac. Helps you sooth your body and get your man ready for everything.

So I bought this thinking it would be a great baby announcement - but this is meant to help perk you up to get you pregnant. Anyways, I love Maskingdom masks and this is a 2 step mask. This mask fit very well on my face and it was soft (it's silk) and felt great to wear. The second step essence had lots and made my skin feel great!
Repurchase: Other masks from this brand yes...

So in April, I used 16 masks - this is a great improvement over some of the past few months where I have been too tired to use any masks! Also, I'm pretty pleased that I used a great variety of masks this month including eye, hands and feet masks too!
