Five on Friday - July 16, 2016

Wow what a busy week - so happy today is Friday!!! Here is how my week has been:

ONE
WEDDING UPDATE!!! I went for my dress alterations last night! I have been sweating bullets that it wasn't going to fit and I am so happy to say that it fits awesome!!! It only needs minimal alterations which is great! Also, this evening I am going for my make-up trial - check out my instagram later, I would love to see what you guys think! 

TWO

I'm in love with my new purchase!!! This is the Holika Holika Aloe 99% Soothing Gel ~ $12. Seriously how cute is this Aloe lotion in an Aloe bottle?!! Here is how it is described: 99 % fermented aloe vera leaf juice is contained. Fermented contents maximize the effect of activating components like aloesin. So it helps your skin to be clear & healthy.

THREE
Life/Work update - if you have been following me, you know I had some work drama (closing my work place down and then saving it at the last minute). Well sadly, there has been some fallout and lots of staff left - and worse, for the summer I am losing my work partner! She is being pulled to do another job and it is very frustrating because August is wedding month and now I will be doing a 2 person job alone for the month?!! Ahhh - this is going to be a busy summer!!! 

FOUR
On that note, I have to remove one of my pages up top - my Subscription Box List! It is just too hard to maintain right now because there are so many new Subscription Boxes - I just can't keep up!! In my mind, I can't only offer half information so I have to take it down! I really hope I have some time in September to update it and get it back up!! 

FIVE
I try not to use my blog to bash any companies/subscription boxes, but I feel like when there is not good customer service out there, I need to give a fair warning! 

Have you guys heard of Sizzi Glam Bag?! It is supposed to be the new Canadian subscription boxes, but I have read some really terrible customer service reviews! Such as: they have sent open cosmetics and told a customer they were lying, they are removing any negative feedback and blocking people from all social media, and they are using obscure instagram accounts to comment on peoples accounts if they say something less than perfect. *Just a warning, if it looks good to you - proceed with caution!

  2. I'm hearing a lot of bad things about Sizzi - I was kind of interested in it with the first bag - after seeing it on EastCoastCanadian. However, after hearing more and more and seeing the second bag I started questioning things. I have no idea where they are getting their products from - I don't think Melania does subs, so I am starting to think they are buying back products from somewhere possibly? And, there are lots of complaints that seem to disappear. The products are full size, which is good but a lot of people are finding out they are older products. Maybe they can turn it around but I won't be subbing until they do :/

    1. Yes I was actually going to sign up - I loved the idea of a new Canadian company but the more it goes on, the more shady it looks! too bad - hopefully they improve their service and can turn it around or it won't last long!

  3. I just heard about sizzi probably 2 days ago. What I've seen is not so good reviews... old products, products that don't associate with sub boxes. And to be honest, their website looks kind of shady. I don't think I'd trust putting my credit card info on there!

  4. So happy your dress makes you happy you will be a beautiful bride. Remember not to stress over tiny details and enjoy the day to the fullest. Sorry your work is not going great. As a govt union worker I totally relate. Hopefully after summer it will go back to normal. I always enjoy your five on Friday posts !
