I haven't really seen this "Nu" line from YSL; but, I was excited - it is a high end designer brand and when I saw this on the Sephora app, it's reasonably priced for the brand! (I checked it out and it looks like is was released last year influenced by the eco-conscious gen Z and featuring botanical ingredients (sourced from YSL Beauty’s Ourika Comunity Gardens in Morocco) as well as packaging made from recycled materials and printed with vegetable inks. The range was designed to offer “unapologetic” natural coverage, allowing “real skin” to show through!
I have really been enjoying cream creek products, so always excited to try something new in this category. Right now this line comes in three shades - a plum, a red and a peach. I of course picked up the peach since it is my go to cheek shade!
Yves Saint Laurent Nu Lip & Cheek Balmy Tint with Hyaluronic Acid in Nu Peach ~ $35.00 CAN. A creamy, tinted, two-in-one lip balm and cheek blush that blends seamlessly for a natural-looking flush of hydrating color that feels lightweight on skin.
This is a little squeeze tube bottle and you could apply this right from the tube to fingers to cheeks or lips - I will personally use a palette or the back of my hand and apply with a brush as my preferred application. The texture is nice and light and the shade Nu Peach is gorgeous!
My preference in a cheek colour is that it apply light and be built up to my preference - I don't love the feeling of over applying a cheek color and trying to blend like crazy! So, this sheers down quite a bit, but for me it sheers out for the perfect color application and it looks great on the cheeks. It is on the creamier side so I find it takes a touch longer to dry down, but it still wears well on the cheeks and looks great on!
Here is a look at Nu Peach on my cheeks - you can see it better below in the zoomed out, but it's a great shade, sits nicely on the skin, doesn't look heavy and wears beautifully!
It's super handy when you are in a rush to get ready, or just want to reduce your time to have products that serve dual purposes, so I love that this is a lip tint too. Now, this colour is on the light side so it didn't show up well on my lips, but did keep them smooth as it's nice and creamy. The other two shades likely have a bit more of a tint on the lips as they seem darker overall!
If I'm being honest (which I always am), I have to say I love this blush! I'm loving the application and it wears all day - it's easy to apply and there is just something about a cream blush how it sits on the cheek and just looks smooth and pretty! The shade is lovely and this will easily be a go-to product for me!
Have you tried any of the YSL Nu line? I'm eyeing that Hydrating Skin Tint next!
