Happy Manicure Monday - I hope you all had a good weekend! We were nice and busy again as our typical Summer weekends have been!
I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links
Water themed nails are always perfect for Summertime - I've been doing a lot of bright nails, but I really wanted to do something water themed this week. Have you guys seen the pool nails going around? I love them - I don't use gel polish so I got searching for other similar nails!
Jayne from Cosmetic Proof did some cute ombre mermaid nails a few years ago, so I took some inspiration from them, perfect for the #CBBxManiMonday Summer nails all of July and August!
- Pueen Latex Tape Liquid Peel Off Cuticle Guard
- Essie All-in-one top and base coat
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish in Gain Mo-Mint-Um
- Holo Taco polish in Sea Foam Home
- Maniology polish in Spiced Orange
- Moyra Stamping Top Coat
- MoYou Festive Collection 62
I also used a basic triangle beauty sponge as well as a stamper and scraper!
For this manicure, I started with a base coat and one coat of light blue polish as a base. Then I painted the liquid latex around each nail to help protect the cuticles and skin around each nail! For the ombre, I painted both blue/teal shades on the sponge and patted it on each nail - this probably takes 4-5 times with each nail. Once that was well dry, I stamped mermaid scales on top. Then I peeled off the latex and cleaned up the nails, then finished with a nail art top coat!
I loooove how these turned out! And, as always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love for their Summer nails!
