I'm not much of a planner for my reading, but each month I try and stick to a little bit of a reading "theme". We are well in to July, so I thought share some "Summer" themed books that are perfect to read right now - I have a mix of older and newer books!
Here's a few Summer books I'm planning on reading soon:
- Sometime in Summer by Katrina Leno ~ This is a book about bad luck, and that's what our main character thinks when she is spending two months in a seaside town with her Mom. Will her luck change? I loved Summer of Salt by this author and I'm so excited to try this on!
- That Summer by Jennifer Weiner ~ This main character is feeling a little stuck with everything going on and she has a chance encounter, but maybe it wasn't chance after all. Jennifer Weiner is a super popular chick-lit author, so this is guaranteed to be a good Summer read.
- Every Summer After by Carley Fortune ~ Talk about the book of the Summer - this one is hyped up! This is about our main character who goes back to the same Summer spot every year - sounds like it's about love and it will be a back forth between past and present to find out what happened! I love that this is set in Canada and I cannot wait to read this!
- Hello, Summer by Mary Kay Andrews ~ This author feels like the quintessential Summer easy beach read - this is about our main character who is writing a local gossip column and some scandal and shenanigans ensue.
- One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle ~ Our main character loses her Mother, and takes their pre-planned trip to Positano solo. Somehow, her Mother as a 30 year old woman appears on her trip and so she spends the Summer getting to know her. I've been to Positano with my family and this feels like it's going to be so special and sad and lovely!
What are you reading this Summer?!
TWO
I went to the Calgary Stampede for a second time this year - I'm so happy to have my sister in law in town after 2 1/2 years, so we had a girls night and it was a blast! It was so busy so we went as many rides as we could, ate so much good veggie junk food, had a few drinks and watched the chuckwagons for this first time. We had a great time!
THREE
I picked this up on a whim, I'm not really much of a DIY'er but I thought this could be fun to try and put together - now I'm thinking I'm in a little over my head. Have you ever tried putting these together before?! I'm curious what I'm getting in to!
FOUR
Here's a look at my July declutter - just getting rid of a few tea tree products that I've had for years, the ELF powder foundation is too dark and the Nars lip balm that just didn't work for me, and the brush was fine but just couldn't be washed anymore!
FIVE
Okay, we found these frozen Boba tea packs at Costco and we love them - you warm them up, add ice and milk and drink! They are actually so tasty and everyone in the house loves them!
I hope you all have a good weekend!
