Five on Friday - April 29, 2022 ~ April 2022 Owlcrate Box, April Scratch Monthly Mani Kit, Elliott Turns 5 & Plants Vs. Zombies Party, Circus Night Out and New BunkBeds for E!

Happy Friday everyone - I hope you all had a great week! It's nice to be back in Calgary and get back in to my regular routine here after a whirlwind between the cabin, Edmonton, and then a weekend of kids party! I was pretty exhausted so I'm going to take it easy this weekend!

ONE

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

I just received my April Owlcrate subscription and this month's theme is "Peek Behind The Curtain" - each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well. They often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription!

The item's included in this month's box are:
  • Book - Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor ~ This is a gorgeous book about a travelling magical hotel compared to The Night Circus and Caraval - I was so excited for this release (I finished reading it and it will be in my Reading Wrapup soon). This particular addition was signed, has gorgeous end papers, details on the actual book, art on the back cover and it glows in the dark!)
  • Silicone Popcorn Holder ~ okay, this is inspired by Where Dreams Descend and it's actually cool - you put in 1 1/2 tablespoons of popcorn kernels, close it up and put in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds. It worked and it's a cute item.
  • Flavored Coffee ~ I love Bones Coffee and have gotten in an Owlcrate before (I love them and have bought from them multiple times now) - this one is inspired by The Phantom of the Opera and the flavor is Chocolate Eclair!
  • Wax Stamp Set ~ Ooooh I love wax stamps and I used them all the time for my blind date books, so I'm glad to have another stamp to use and it's a pretty little fox (inspired by Once Upon A Broken Heart and the main character Evangeline Fox). I love this item!
  • Mini Wall Clock ~ Oh yes, I knew when there was a circus themed box, there was going to be something great from The Night Circus and this little clock is lovely - it's the perfect addition and I've already got it up on my wall!
  • Mouse Pad ~ This is a mouse pad inspired by Moulin Rouge - it says "Outside Things May Be Tragic, But In Here We Feel It's Magic"
  • Enamel Pin ~ I love that there was a second Night Circus item in this box, and these luggage pins are so cute - I love that Le Cirque De Reves was the choosen destination and this is so pretty!
If you are interested in signing up, Owlcrate is $32.99 US per month, plus shipping is $14.99 to Canada. I am planning on not receiving this box as often in 2022, as much as I love it, I'd rather just buy books I love and not have as much unnecessary things!

TWO

I just got my April 2022 Scratch Monthly Mani Kit and as always, they are super cute - I always love their floral prints, they are my go-to! This is an easy, affordable subscription that features nail wraps from GoScrachIt that are exclusive to the kit each month and designed  by NinaNailedIt! (This month Nina teamed up with illustrator Maggie Enterrios @littlepatterns and the designs are so pretty!)

The Scratch Monthly Mani Kit is $18.00 US monthly with free shipping everywhere! Each month you get an exclusive set of wraps that aren't available for purchase and a little extra mani goodie with it!
  • Main Squeeze nail wraps
  • nail foils
I have to say, these nail wraps are easily my favourite nail wraps to use - I have tried quite a few wraps and nothing compares! You can see past reviews and nail looks on Scratch wraps here if you are interested!

THREE

This past weekend, Elliott turned 5! I'm always amazed at how fast time goes - how is this little guy 5 already! After the past two years of doing nothing for Elliott's birthday, I was so happy that we were able to have a house full and our family and friends this year to help celebrate!

I had so much fun getting the party all organized and tried to go all out for the Plants Vs. Zombies theme - I took the day to set the decorations, do all the details on the cake!

FOUR

My friend and I went out this past weekend - Le Cirque de la Nuit Presents: Époque happened at The Palace Theatre! We are huge Night Circus fans, so a moms night out with circus performers sounded amazing! It was good - it was at a club, so the live music wasn't great, but some of the performers were really good and overall we had a good time!

FIVE

This week, we moved Elliott out of his little car bed and in to a big bed finally! Damian got a Queen size bed downstairs (no photo evidence since the frame isn't here yet, but we moved the bunk beds upstairs so Elliott can have them for a few more years!)

I hope you all have a great weekend!
