Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all had a good week - mine was normal and pretty quiet!

I don't plan a whole lot of my reading anymore, but I am trying to finish up a few long standing series I've had on the go. But, I have been craving Circusy set books, so I've rounded a few of the ones I really want to read soon!
Here's a few of the recent Circus books I'm planning on reading soon:
- The Forest of Stars by Heather Kassner ~ This is one that is more of a middle grade novel and it's described as a "mesmerizing fantasy novel, a windswept girl who can float among the stars searches for her long-lost father at a shadow-filled carnival" - a girl who can fly and a Carnival Beneath The Stars?! Sounds amazing!
- Circus of Wonders by Elizabeth Macneal ~ This one releases in Canada in February, so I got a beautiful UK edition - this is set in 1860's England and about a girl who is sold to the circus as a leopard-girl because of the birthmarks on her body and her growth through the circus!
- Bacchanal by Veronica G. Henry ~ Oh, this one sounds like a dark circus read and has a girl who can communicate with animals; but, there is also an ancient demon feeding on innocent souls in the circus, and our main character has to discover her powers and their purpose!
- Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles ~ I received this book in a previous Owlcrate box and I cannot wait to read it! It is described as "a group of magicians face off in a daring game of magical feats to find the next headliner of the Conquering Circus, only to find themselves under the threat of an unseen danger striking behind the scenes." I love a magical game!
- The Ladies of the Secret Circus by Constance Sayers ~ This is a duel timeline book from Paris in 1925 to modern day in the USA, our main character comes across diaries from her Great-Grandmother who is swept away to a dark circus and ill-fated love, that could reveal a curse still effecting her and her family!
I'm so excited for all of these books! Do you have any favourite circus books? I love The Night Circus and Water for Elephants, so I'm always looking for more with this unique setting!
TWO
Okay you guys, I just got the Smash and Tess Rebecca Wrap Dress in Bold Burgundy and I love this! She's a little pricey at $129.00 CAN, but damn - the colour is lovely, I love the length and the sleeves and the cut with the wrap front and pockets! I'm a size Medium and I'm loooving this dress - it's so comfy too!
THREE
It's not really Christmas time until you get cookie decorating time in right?! It's all fun until you cross the line of the little one eating too much sugar and going crazy, but you know, it's the holidays, so what else is expected?! We made sugar cookies and I made meringues for my first time and they turned out so good!
FOUR
Okay, I might be the worst - I'm the best person to go Christmas shopping for, so whenever I find something that someone else might like, I have to get one for me too. So, I took off a day last week to go shopping and I was totally reasonable and I only picked up two things for myself! I picked up the Capri Blue candle in the scent Volcano - have you ever smelled this?! Possibly the best scent ever! So good! Then, I found this little Sparkle Drops for drinks - it's so fun (it was at this great little shop - Chroma Club!)
FIVE
And, Pantone introduced their 2022 Color of the Year - Very Peri, and I love a Periwinkle! So cute. Pantone describes their choice as "as we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue colour family, encompassing the qualities of blues, yet at the same time with it's violet red undertone, Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expressions." It's so cute! Do you guys try and incorporate the Colour of the Year in anything? I love to try, but it usually peters off halfway through the year!
I hope you all have a great weekend! We are going to see Encanto today and I'm so excited!
