Five on Friday - December 24, 2021 ~ Family Christmas Cards, November 2021 Owlcrate Box, Grinchmas at the Calgary Farmer's Market, and Christmas Baskets and Mugs

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have had a great week - happy Christmas Eve, I hope you are all looking forward to Christmas tomorrow!

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

We are all prepped for Christmas tomorrow - everything is wrapped and ready to go and the kids are excited for Santa to visit! Any bets on how early my little one is going to be up tomorrow?! He is not good at sleeping in when he is excited!

Last year we did nothing for Christmas because of the pandemic, so I am excited to at least have some family time and see everyone again this year! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays - hope you all stay safe!

november 2021 owlcrate

I just received my November Owlcrate subscription (there was some delays waiting for products, so it's a little late!) and this month's theme is "Dreaming In The Dark" - each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well. They often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription!

The item's included in this month's box are:
  • Book - Dreams Lie Beneath by Rebecca Ross ~ Okay, this is described as a story about "magic, vengeance, and the captivating power of dreams" and it sounds up my alley - magicians work to protect people from nightmares every new moon, and two magicians come to challenge our main character taking over as warden. Sounds like conflict, secrets and a little romance ensue as a result and I want to read this asap!
  • Book Tin ~ This is the fourth and final book tin from the A Darker Shade of Magic series, and this one is from Black London - it's called Osaron Rises: The Plague of the Shadow King and it is very cool! These are designed by Forensics and Flowers and I love that they each represent a different London from the series.
  • Lip Balm ~ Fiction Bath Co. created this vegan lip balm that is Sangria flavoured (yum!) and it is inspired by The Bone Season and I can't wait to use it!
  • Washi Tape ~ What a fun little addition - I love a washi tape, and this one is really pretty and inspired by Strange The Dreamer!
  • Pillowcase ~ This is a full size pillow case inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses - it says "To the Stars Who Listen and the Dreams That Are Answered". Even though I haven't read the series, this is really pretty!
  • Enamel Pin ~ This is a pretty pin inspired by the cursed mountain village in the book of the month!
This book was also supposed to come with the yearly Reading Planner, but they are shipping them out with the December boxes (that are also delayed at this point!)

If you are interested in signing up, Owlcrate is $32.99 US per month, plus shipping is $14.99 to Canada. I am planning on not receiving this box as often in 2022, as much as I love it, I'd rather just buy books I love and not have as much unnecessary things!

This past weekend, we did a little gift exchange with Elliott and one of his besties and they were cute - we surprised them first and brought them to the Calgary Farmer's Market because they had a Grinch walking around and he was amazing! The boys loved him and he was so cute!

Okay, I couldn't resist this adorable Grumpy Cat Mug - you guys I found this at Walmart for $2.97 (seriously, $3 for a huge mug) and it's so stinkin cute! (I wish I could find a link for you, but they had dogs and bears and everything! So cute!!!)

I had my work Christmas party and Volleyball wrap up this week and it's so nice to have a few get-togethers to do this year! I won this awesome wine gift basket at the volleyball party - it came with two bottles of XOXO wines, a little spritzer, a to-go Rose, a lip balm and some chocolates! I've already had one of the bottles and it was really sweet, but yummy!

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and a great weekend!
