Time for a look at my beauty garbage from January:
Some products may have been received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links
MAC Cosmetics Mini MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Primer and Setting Spray ~ $18.00 CAN. A lightweight water mist that finishes makeup, while gently soothing and refreshing skin.
This was a little mini I've been carrying around in my purse for a while - I like this as a refresher during the day while wearing makeup because it won't mess up my makeup. I also prefer this as a primer and don't use it soley as a setting spray.
Repurchase: Likely
Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial ~ $80.00 US. Babyfacial is a pro-quality AHA/BHA “facial” that resurfaces to reveal greater clarity, improved skin texture and tone, and a more youthful radiance.
This is sadly not available to Canadians, I had to pick this up while on vacation in the states, but I've had this for over a year and because it's so strong, it's not really something I want to use on my skin after the recommended time! This was great - amazing at resurfacing the skin every week or two. It was a little tingly, but I loved the results!
Repurchase: Yes, whenever I can vacation again!
Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution ~ $19.90 CAN for 500 ml. The cleansing and make-up removing water in Canada that respects the fragility of sensitive skin.
I've raved about this before - it is easily my holy grail makeup remover. It works so well and is gentle on the skin. I usually use it as step one before double cleansing at night to remove eye makeup, but I also enjoy using it on a cotton pad as a gentle morning cleanser (make sure to rinse after this if you use it this way!)
Repurchase: Yes!
St. Ives Hydrating Face Mist - Grapefruit ~ $6.99 US. Spritz YAAAS for an instant boost of happy thanks to vibrant notes of grapefruit, peach, and orange.
Alright, this is another product I picked up on vacation in the States and thought it was available in Canada, but I haven't seen it. Which is too bad - it's a great mist and made my Favourites in September 2020. This smells amazing and fruity and refreshing and it's nice and hydrating on the skin. The only downfall is the mister is a little aggressive, but it's so good!
Repurchase: I wish
Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch ~ $6.26 CAN (prices vary by website). Acne Pimple Master Patch heals acne, blemishes and prevents future breakouts quickly.
These are a holy grail in my collection - these made my favourites all the way back in September 2015 and I still repurchase consistently, and repurchase them in bulk. These clear up acne so well and so quickly!
Repurchase: Yes!

Repurchase: Yes!
Peach & Lily Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream ~ sample shown (full size is $40.00 CAN). The Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream drenches skin with antioxidants deep within skin and also creates a weightless, invisible antioxidant barrier to help fight off free radical damage at all layers of the skin.
This was really nice for a sample - small only a couple of uses, but I enjoyed the texture and would use it again!
Repurchase: Maybe
Riversol Anti-Aging Reparative Serum ~ sample shown (full size is $79.00 CAN). This anti-aging serum restores a natural radiance to the skin by providing a potent blend of stabilized vitamins and anti-oxidants to combat the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage.
I had 3 packets of this serum as a 3 week trial, but this doesn't last a week - this wasn't a great serum, I didn't really like it so I actually decluttered the other 2 packets. It just didn't do much for my skin.
Repurchase: No
L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream ~ sample shown (full size is $141.00 CAN). An exceptional antiaging cream that helps fight visible signs of aging, leaving skin nourished and smooth.
This was a really thick cream that felt very luxe (which I can see why it's $140 dollars!), so I used it at night time - but I think these are quite scented, so I didn't enjoy that. This was fine, but not nearly worth that much money!
Repurchase: Nah
Biotherm Aquasource Gel ~ sample shown (full size is $52.00 CAN). Day after day, it replenishes skin’s natural moisture reserves, gorging skin with moisture to restore its natural ability to glow.
I really like a gel moisturizer for a day time moisturizer and the Biotherm products I've used before! This one was really good and I enjoyed it - I would certainly use it as a day cream. It was gentle and hydrating!
Repurchase: Probably, yes
Darphin Vetiver Aromatic Care Stress Relief Detox Oil Mask ~ sample shown (full size is $75.00 CAN). A stress-relief, detox mask for healthy-looking, nourished, and radiant skin.
I'm not sure what makes this a mask over an oil - it doesn't say to rinse off, and I honestly easn't sure whether I should use this on my face or body, so I just used it as a body oil after the shower one day (a really expensive body oil at that!)
Repurchase: No
Vichy Ideal Body Serum-Milk ~ 32.95 CAN. Serum-milk for ideal skin quality, continuous hydration, harmonized skin tone, firmness and smoothness.
This is a super, light-weight body milk or "serum-milk", which is a perfect consistency for Spring and Summer - it wasn't quite hydrating enough for Winter in Alberta. This smells delicious and leaves a little shimmer on the skin which I love!
Repurchase: Doesn't look like it's available anymore
Mika Foam Soap Spray - Bubble Gum ~ $5.50. Mika foam soap spray turns boring bath time into fun time! Spray the foam to make silly shapes, bounce or have fun with the floating foam in the tub! Mild and gentle formulation.
This was a foam soap (I got one another one as a PR gift, so I thought I should talk about them) - I think this was a gift for my son, and he loved it! I tried it once, because it's actually so cute and it foamed up well and smelled delicious!
Repurchase: Yup
Clear Care Plus Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution ~ $19.97 CAN for a set of 2. Not only does CLEAR CARE PLUS Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution clean and disinfect your contact lenses with the bubbling power of hydrogen peroxide, it also surrounds your lenses with long-lasting moisture.
This is a great contact solution - I switched to a hydrogen peroxide solution well over two years ago now (with only one mishap of not letting it rinse long enough). This is at least a 6 hour solution so you can't wear your contacts the next day unless you have enough time; but, it's great! Much better at cleaning than regular solutions!
Repurchase: Yes!

Exact Shave Gel Dry Skin ~ $2.99 CAN.
This is a shave gel - nothing miraculous or crazy. It worked!
Repurchase: Sure

Method Foaming Hand Soap in Pink Grapefruit ~ $4.79 CAN. What's not to love? especially when the formula is biodegradable, naturally derived and contains no dirty ingredients.
I really like this one - I am going to keep this packaging and will try and find a refill for this!
Repurchase: Yes
Crest ProHealth Advanced Rinse ~ $7.99 CAN.
This is a good mouthwash - this one doesn't taste quite as terrible burning as the rest! I used this one a lot, but I've recently swapped to a different brand than this one.
Repurchase: Maybe
The Body Shop Banana Truly Nourishing Shampoo ~ $11.00 CAN for 250 ml. This truly nourishing, cruelty-free shampoo gently cleanses your hair and drenches it in an uplifting, tropical scent.
The Body Shop Banana Truly Nourishing Conditioner ~ $11.00 CAN for 250 ml. Enriched with real banana puree, this creamy conditioner is irresistible. Use after shampoo for moisturized, tangle-free, healthy looking hair.
I really like the banana shampoo and conditioner - I reviewed these banana products last year on a big post here and these were a standout for sure! These smell amazing and the formula works so well for me - I can actually get two days without using dry shampoo (which is rather unheard of for my hair!)
Repurchase: Already have!
Mane 'N Tail and Body Shampoo ~ $9.99 CAN for 1 litre (travel size shown here). A rich, fragrant lather gently cleanses, provides body, shine and manageability for healthy looking hair every time.
Mane 'N Tail and Body Conditioner ~ $9.99 CAN for 1 litre (travel size shown here). Helps stimulate growth and enhances manageability, creating thicker, more natural-looking hair.
I can't remember where I got these travel size shampoos from, but I finally used these (again, still trying to get through older products) - these were actually pretty good! I was surprised that I liked these so well - my hair looked good.
Repurchase: Maybe
Design.ME Fab.ME Hair Treatment ~ $19.95 CAN. No, we haven’t found the fountain of youth, but we’ve created the biggest and baddest four defense formula that will give you your youthful, fabulous hair back in a matter of seconds!
This leave-in treatment is said to help everything from shine, control, static, to a protective layer, breakage prevention, and detangling. I always need a detangling treatment and I've noticed some of the other benefits, such as shine and static control for sure! I liked the formula, but I did not like the scent of this at all.
Repurchase: Probably not
Mitchum Clinical Soft Solid ~ $8.99 CAN.
Deodorant is nothing special; but, I love the clinical strength formula and this brand is my go-to. I like that it is both an antiperspirant and a deodorant.
Repurchase: Yes

Repurchase: Yes
I picked these soaps up last year at a local Farmer's Market in BC - they are so pretty and I love handmade soaps! This one smelled great and worked well!
Repurchase: Maybe
Lush Naughty Elf Bubble Bar ~ $7.95 CAN. This heady mixture is made up of mango, violet, jasmine and lemon myrtle with a dose of petitgrain oil to clear brain fog and restore a sense of calm. You'll be beside your elf with joy.
I'm seriously trying to use up my older bath products and this one is from a couple of years ago - I do love the combo of the fruity and floral scent with this one - it's so yummy and Lush's bubble bars are unparalleled in terms of bubbles!
Repurchase: If it's available again
Lush Candy Cane Bubble Bar ~ $5.95 CAN. Twirl it under the tap to create a mound of bubbles, then set it aside to dry so you can use it again and again.
I love that you can get a few uses out of these bubble bars - use them until you have enough bubbles and keep reusing it. This was the product I was expecting a minty scent from; but, I do love that Lush doesn't do all their scents and products as you would expect - they always keep you guessing! I love a sweet scent and this one is great!
Repurchase: Yes, if they bring it back
Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar ~ $7.95 CAN. Lavender, ylang ylang and neroli create a unique and uplifting fragrance as mountains of shimmery bubbles leave you feeling as enchanting and dazzling as unicorns themselves.
Is this not the cutest product?! I love these - again, I've been stepping up the bubble game (using them for my little guy's baths too!) and this one smelled really good too!
Repurchase: Yes, it's usually a Valentine's release
These are great masks - they are nourishing and soothing and they smell great and add so much moisture in to the skin! Some of the best!
Repurchase: Yes
Papa Recipe - Bombee Whitening Honey Mask Pack ~ $33.36 CAN for a pack of 10 masks. With glutathione and diamond powder among its ingredients, this 10-piece mask set leaves skin brighter, younger-looking and clearer with each use.
This one didn't fit as well as the black honey masks, but it still worked well and lasted for about 30 minutes on the face.
Repurchase: Maybe, I prefer the black honey one
Banobagi Vita Genic Jelly Mask - Relaxing ~ $6.91 CAN. The Relaxing version is infused with Jeju aloe extract to soothe and moisturize sensitive skin.
This mask fit pretty well and wore for about 40 minutes - this was good, but it left my face feeling a little sticky for quite a while after.
Repurchase: Maybe
JM Solution - Active Jellyfish Vital Mask ~ $2.50 CAN. The light cell fitting sheet adheres perfectly to the face to firmly deliver the essence to the skin for maximum nourishment. This mask also helps with firming for healthy, plump skin!
This mask was super soaked in essence and this lasted so long - also the fit was fantastic and this left my face very hydrated and refreshed!
Repurchase: Likely
XO Treatment Room Calm Down and Wear A Mask ~ $10 per mask. Rose Water and Panthenol sheet masks to calm your cookies.
XO Treatment Room is a Calgary skincare/facial company and I've been pretty excited about their products this year - sheet masks aren't a staple product in the line up, but she has some there right now as holiday products. I picked these up on a Thursday special where Annie either releases sales or special products, etc. I quite enjoyed this mask - there was lots of essence and my skin did feel soothed and soft after wearing this.
Repurchase: Yes, I have a few more already
Jay Jun Honey Dew Purple Mask ~ $12.50 US for 5 masks. Manuka Honey is beloved for its antibacterial, antiviral, and antioxidant properties. Help your skin by adding another layer of moisture and protection.
This mask was a little big and well soaked in essence - it lasted quite a while, but the fit wasn't as amazing. This was a good mask though and my skin looked and felt great after!
Repurchase: Likely
7th Heaven - 24 Hour Hydration for Sensitive Skin Vegan Bamboo Sheet Mask ~ $4.50 CAN. We know that some people need a bit more TLC, which is what our new sensitive 24-hour hydration mask is all about. No fragrance, no alcohol, no irritation - just endless hydration with an extra layer of care.
Clearly this face mask is huge and it did not fit well - also, it basically had no essence and it didn't last long at all. Sadly, it did not leave my skin very hydrated because there was no essence.
Repurchase: No
Dr. Jart+ Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution ~ $8.00 CAN. A cellulose sheet mask that deeply hydrates and replenishes skin's moisture levels.
This was a great hydrating mask - this fit well and adhered well to the face and moisturized and hydrated the skin! So good!
Repurchase: Yes
Ciate London Watermelon Burst Hydrating Eye Patches ~ $30.00 CAN for 6 sets of eye masks. These skin superstars help to restore, revitalize, and reduce the appearance of fine lines for refreshed under eyes.
I just shared a full review post of these Watermelon Masks on a Skincare Sunday post last year - I thought that they were just okay. They added a quick burst of hydration, but didn't offer much beyond that (I mean, they also looked adorable)!
Repurchase: Nah, probably not
Freeman Beauty Moisturizing Hydrogel Mask ~ $4.99 CAN. Indulge in a surge of moisture with this serum-infused hydrogel mask. The cushiony hydrogel contours and stays in place to enhance absorption.
I really liked this mask - it was a two piece hydrogel mask and it adhered well to the face. I loved the coconutty smell and it left my skin nice and smooth and soft!
Repurchase: Doesn't seem easy to find, but if I can yes
So, in January I used up 36 products, which is great - not really any makeup this month and of course, still working through some older samples, so a few extra of those in there!
