These polishes were won in a giveaway
This is such a fun, pretty collection! It is described as "these bold new neon hues with a demi-matte finish heat things up as you tango your way through summer nights!" I love the range of bright, fun colours.
The Essie polishes range from $8.25 CAN (Nail Polish Canada) to $11.99 CAN (Shopper's Drug Mart) Here is a look at the shades in the collection:
Essie In Full Swing ~ neutral semi-matte pink creme
This is quite a thin polish formula and needed 3 coats to look opaque - also with the first coat it was very matte and then as it was built up, it looked more semi-matte. This is beautiful shade!
Essie Soles on Fire ~ bright semi-matte orange creme
I love this shade so much - it is easily my favourite from the collection! I love a good orange polish and I like the light orange shade. Again, this was a thin formula and this is the polish with 3 coats.
Essie Claim To Fame ~ a neutral semi-matte brown creme
I know this is a Summer collection; but, this polish screams Fall to me! I think its perfect to transition to the Fall season! Actually, this polish itself seems to belong to a bit of a different collection because it's a different formula and it's thicker and opaque in two coats.
Essie Strike A Rose ~ bright semi-matte rose pink creme
This is definitely a light, neon pink polish - I don't think this picture does the brightness justice. But, you can really see how matte this polish is with this pink! Again, this was 3 coats for this polish!
Essie Take The Lead ~ bright semi-matte light blue creme
This is such a bright, fun neon light blue - it's really unique and again, this one dries pretty matte! This formula was thin and this is the polish with 3 coats on.
Essie Tangoed In Love ~ bright semi-matte purple creme
This formula looked a little thicker, so I thought I could get away with two coats; but, it probably needed three coats to be fully opaque. This is a beautiful bright, deep purple shade!
Overall, these polishes were really pretty! The neon formula was a little on the thin side, so these did need three coats of polish to be fully opaque. I thought the matte finish was pretty and different, as I don't have a lot of matte polishes!
All the month of September, the #CBBxManiMonday group is doing "Colour Combos", so this week's colour combo is the Summer colour combo (I know, I know, I didn't actually combine theme, but they are all here in this post combined together!)
Make sure as always you check out Cosmetic Proof, Prairie Beauty Love, and Tea & Nail Polish to see what they came up with for their colour combo nails this week!
All beautiful summer shades that I would probably wear well into Fall and Winter!
ReplyDeleteYes, a couple of them really made me think of Fall too!
