LaSpa was the first brand of mineral sunscreen I tried and I really liked them! Their products are 100% natural and use Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide and those ingredients are natural mineral sun blocks that sit on your skin and stop both UVA and UVB rays from penetrating your skin. Also, where chemical filters take about 20 minutes to come in to effect, this sunscreen is effective immediately! Another benefit of mineral sunscreen is that it is marine safe - it is biodegradable and has no toxins that are damaging to marine life or coral reefs!
The only downfall of a mineral sunscreen is that they can leave a bit of a white cast on the body or face, so they can be obvious sometimes when you are wearing them! So, I'm very excited that LaSpa released a new tinted stick sunscreen!
LaSpa SPF50 Ultra Sun Protection Stick ~ $18.00 CAN. Providing the Ultimate Sun Protection, this SPF50 stick is pocket size and perfect for use in conjunction with our SPF30 as a touch up for T-Zone, or heavily exposed areas. Our SPF50 contains Zinc and Titanium Dioxide plus 95.7% certiļ¬ed organic ingredients to provide 98% broad spectrum protection. Vitamin D and E are added for protecting and repairing the skin.
I like the idea of this as suggested as a touch up, pocket size sunscreen; but, i actually really love the idea of a tinted sunscreen as a base on the face! Now, this doesn't add any colour to the skin at all; but, it does eliminate the whitecast that can be left behind!
I've really liked this formula on my face - I really like wearing the strong protective factor and it wears nicely under makeup or just on it's own.
It's a little stiff when applied directly from the tube to the face, so I just apply it in a few spots on the face and rub in with my hands. But, I do like the idea of a stick sunscreen and it is easy to pack around and carry with you throughout the day!
Overall, I really liked this LaSpa SPF50 Ultra Sun Stick - I'm still newly diving in to the world of mineral sunscreens and I think this is a great introduction to mineral sunscreens! I especially enjoy this because of the light tint that just eliminates the white cast that a mineral sunscreen can leave behind, so this is great for the face!
LaSpa also has an SPF20 Daily Sun Protection Lotion and an SPF 30 Moisturizing Mineral Sunscreen - I've shared my thoughts on these before and you can see them here! They've newly reformulated the SPF30 as well with certified organic ingredients and antioxidants!
Also, LaSpa is offering readers a $5.00 off code with an online purchase - just use the code: LASPANaturals2019 and enjoy $5 off your order! (not an affiliate code - just a discount!)
Have you tried a mineral sunscreen yet?!
