Five on Friday - June 28, 2019

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week - it's been a little crazy here; but, I'm off on holidays now until July 11th! Yay! We are off to Edmonton right now for a long weekend basketball tournament; then, we come home for one day and are off to B.C. for a week!

It's time for a look at my July Monthly Makeup Basket! Each month I've been picking a few different face products to focus on for the month! I'm really trying to focus this year on using and enjoying my whole makeup collection!

For July, the products I'm focusing on are:
  • Illamasqua Beyond Powder Highlighter in Deity - I received this in my LookFantastic Advent calendar and reviewed it earlier this year. It's very shimmery and has a great pop so this highlighter is perfect for Summer!
  • Rodial Blusher in Copacabana - this is a super bright blush that I've used for a past glam look; but, I rarely reach for it because it is really bright! If I'm going to use this shade, I'm going to use it in July!
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rosé Glow - this came as an exclusive with a Glamglow mask, and it made my Monthly Favourites in October 2018 - it's a lovely pink highlighter!
  • Burt's Bees Blush in Shy Pink - This blush pairs so perfectly with the Becca highlighter - they are a perfect combination and made my Favourites together! This is such a great blush formula too; it's easy and comfortable to wear!
  • Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Highlighter - this is a stunning gold highlighter! It made my Favourites for September 2018 and it's a really lovely formula!
I'm excited to play with these fun, Summery goodies!

TWO

And, let's recap my June Monthly Makeup basket!
  • Wet n Wild Color Icon Baked Blush in Hummingbird Hype - this is a pretty blush/blush topper that's super glowy. It didn't quite look right on my skintone though, so it wasn't my favourite!
  • Wet n Wild Color Icon Rainbow Highlighter in Everlasting Glow - this is a gorgeous pinky champagne highlighter that I love!
  • Almay Make Them Jelly Hi-Lite in 24K Dreams - this is an interesting jelly highlighter that was a lot of fun - it is a glittery formula; but, I think it it's fun to wear!
  • And, I have a couple of single blushes and a highlighter as well that I have in a z-palette and I'm using those this month too - the highlighter is from Maison Jacynthe; but, the one blush isn't labelled and the other is an old Ipsy sample. The blushes we're too bold and the highlighter was getting old and didn't show up well.
So, I actually didn't love everything I used this month and I ended up decluttering quite a few products from this month's Makeup Basket!

THREE

I put in an Aritzia order this week because they are having a crazy good sale!!! I pretty much love everything I picked up (the pants are sooooo good!!!)
  • TNA Perridon Pants in Starboard ~ on sale for $62.00 CAN. These are super soft and comfy but can still be dressed up! I'm putting in another order for the black ones! (And the length is perfect - not too short for me at 5'7")
  • TNA Atmosphere Legging in Sd Black ~ $18.00 CAN on sale! These are high-waisted and long enough for my legs still! Plus, they are super soft and comfortable. I'm ordering more of these too!
  • Babaton Wallace Dress in Indigo ~ on sale for $49.99 CAN! This dress is so gorgeous and I wanted it for a wedding - it's a little low cut; but, I'm going to find a way to make it work!
  • Plus, a couple of basic tees in there too!
FOUR

This was a good week for the family! Damian received the Athlete of the Year for Grade 8 and I was so proud of that - he's worked really hard and joined a ton of teams, so he really deserved it! And, it was my husband's birthday this week, so we had all the family over and had a big dinner and icecream cake!

FIVE

And, June Decluttering time - I did some good makeup decluttering this month, plus I went through my skincare cupboard and got rid of products that were getting old!

For makeup, I got rid of this ColourPop blush and highlighter duo that's just old, the single blush and highlighters and Wet n Wild blush from my Monthly Makeup Basket, the Dr. Brandt Luminizing Primer that I got in my Boxycharm that I already have, and an OPI nude which is lovely but I have a few very similar!

And for Skincare, I got rid of a few minis that I've used a little but stopped using - Farmacy Sleep Tight, Sunday Riley C.E.O. and Fresh Lotus eye cream. And, the rest of the full sized skincare was used well but I couldn't finish before they got too old, the Sebum Drying Bubble Pack, Bath Time Box Blissful Face, Paula's Choice Mask, Thursday Plantation Tea Tree moisturizer and Eminence Dermafoliant!

I hope you all have a great weekend!
