Makeup Multisticks - Highlight and Contour with THE FACE SHOP

As much as I love makeup, I have to say I just haven't gotten in to the whole contour craze yet (maybe I'm a little intimidated that I will end up looking dirty or weird if I do it wrong!)

But, The Face Shop recently released some new multi-stick highlight and contour products that are supposed to be really easy to use, so I thought I would give it a shot!

Both products can be used under and over foundation depending on how bold or natural you want to go!

Both products are a cream product and they seem really easy to use - simply swipe them on and blend them!

THE FACE SHOP Multi Stick Highlighter ~ $15.00. A highlighter stick that adds a subtle shimmer to makeup with a single application. The fine pearl particles reflect light, adding a luxurious shimmer to makeup.

This is a very pink highlighter, more pink than I normally go for in a highlighter - right now this is the only shade available.

To use: for the most subtle, luxurious glow apply this stick to the high points of the face before applying foundation. To add on to the glow, or for an overall bolder look, apply this highlighter after foundation to cheek bones, brow bone, bridge of nose, centre of forehead, and top of chin. Then blend out gently!

THE FACE SHOP Multi Stick Contour ~ $15.00. The easy-to-use contour stick comes in a natural-looking neutral shade that goes on smooth and feels weightless on skin. It helps add dimension and refine your features.

Same with the highlighter, this is currently the only shade available in the contour stick. While I think this will work for a range of skintones, this certainly won't work with all skin types! I would really like to see the range of shades expanded to include all skin tones!

To use: for the most natural-looking contour, apply prior to foundation. Pat foundation gently over top. For a bolder, more-sculpted look apply the contour stick after foundation to under the cheekbones, sides of nose and jawline. Then blend gently!

I was surprised with the difference in the formula between the 2 sticks - I found the contour stick really soft and went on smooth and quickly! I almost found that it went on a little too smooth and it was a little too thick in some spots! The highlighter stick was a little stiffer to use, but I liked the formula because it started more subtle and could easily be layered to increase the intensity!

Both were very light-weight and didn't feel like they looked cakey and heavy at all to me when they were applied!

Please, ignore the hair (I'm trying to show off my whole cheeks for you guys, okay?!) and just focus on the highlight and contour!

The picture on the left, is the highlighter and contour is applied before and my foundation over top. The picture on the right are both products applied over top of my foundation!

I the highlighter is certainly the most noticeably different - it is hard to see at all under foundation, but adds a lovely glow over top! The contour to me worked really well under my foundation and I really had to blend it out when it was over top so it didn't look too stark.

Overall, I found both the highlight and contour multisticks really easy to use! I like the results of both and loved that they weren't heavy or cakey on me! I will actually continue to contour with this product! Also, these products would be easy to pack any where and apply quickly for touch-ups!

My only critique is that these are the only 2 shades in the multisticks and I would love to see both the highlighter and contour shade ranges expanded!

Have you tried these products yet? What do you think of a product like this?!

  1. I just love stick/cream products especially in the winter time. These look good but I think the contour shades would be way too light for me :(
