Five on Friday - June 24, 2016

Happy Friday everyone - I hope you all had a great week! I told you guys last week that I was going back to shift work this Summer, but got some really great news that I have my Mon-Fri work position for 1 more year! Yay!

ONE
I hope this week you guys noticed 2 big changes on the blog!

First, I took the plunge and bought myself a domain name!! Ya, I own this gem now! I am now officially www.seetheworldinpink.ca !!!!! Yay! (So, if had my blogger name saved, you can switch it to this website now if you want - the blogger one will automatically redirect you to the new site seamlessly as I am still hosting through them!)

Second, I am still updating the look of the blog, but found a template that looks a little more simple and really focuses on pictures and content! There is still lots to update, but I am getting there slowly! I hope you guys like the new look!

TWO
sephora favorites Chic it Easy value set

I don't always buy the Sephora Favorites value set, but I recently had to grab this Sephora Favorites "Chic It Easy" value set. Okay, I LOVE a good deal - who doesn't?! And Sephora Canada had this product wrongly priced for a little bit - it was $49US on the American site and only $33CAN on the Canadian site (was eventually moved up to $58CAN) which tells me I got a great deal. The YSL Touche Eclat is full size and $50 alone! The face mist is $19, etc. so I am pretty excited to dig in - the only issue was everything only came in one shade so if this wasn't your skintone, it was frustrating. It is sold out now, so that is why I am not doing a full unboxing!

THREE
We have to talk about the looming Canada Post Strike/Lock Out potential - so there is a dispute and on July 2, 2016 both a strike or a lock out is foreseeable and will greatly effect mail delivery in Canada. It would not be completely stopped but would instead have a Management or different team taking over for the employees which means a lot less people doing a ton of work!

I can honestly already feel the effects of it, because there is obviously an incredible rush and influx of mail delivery in Canada the past couple of weeks. It just about the last week in June and still no Ipsy, FabFitFun, or a sticker subscription I get that shipped locally 1 week ago.

I certainly can't speak to the circumstances and want to make sure every worker is being treated fairly, but I love getting my mail and I know this will effect business and the economy if an agreement cannot be reached soon!

FOUR
tony moly panda's dream smudge out mascara

One awesome thing I just got in the mail is the cutest mascara EVER. I love the Tony Moly Panda's Dream line because everything is so stinkin' cute! I thought this mascara would be a good edition to my other Panda goodies - I will review it here soon!

FIVE
june 2016 Beauteque Monthly BB Bag

Also, I re-subbed to the Beauteque Montly BB Bag; but, I will not be posting a full review on it because I'm currently in a small "dispute" with the company. I don't want to always sound like I am complaining on here (I hope it doesn't come off this way), but I expect a certain level of Customer Service from big companies and I will stand my ground if I feel like I am being treated unfairly or a company is doing something that I would not consider good practice.

I will try to keep this brief, but this was the picture Beauteque posted on May 17 with their first spoiler for the June BB Bag:

Ok, that Gelato face mask and a hand cream Chocopie - I didn't even blink before I had re-subbed for June. I needed both of these lovely goodies in my life. And I will say, this is not an inexpensive subscription - this is $24US + $8 shipping to Canada (more when you factor in our current exchange rate).

And in my mind, that picture on May 17 guaranteed that I would get those 3 items in my bag. Long story short, I obviously did not get the insanely cute Gelato mask and instead got a Skinfood Black Sugar Wash Off Mask (which I guess at some point in time they announced might be an alternative, but if you look at their facebook page they ONLY show this Gelato mask). The Skinfood Mask is a great mask, but I own it and if that was the original spoiler I would have never given this company almost $40 for this bag, because I have one of the biggest products.

Anyways, they are essentially refusing to do anything to remedy the situation and apologized if their posts were misleading but that is all they have done so far. An apology does not return my $40, so crazy as it may be, I will keep arguing until I get my damn Gelato mask because I don't think companies should promise items they didn't deliver - I don't think it is fair at all!

Sorry for being longwinded - I hope you all have an amazing weekend! I will be celebrating my husband's 30th Birthday this weekend with a little Game of Thrones party!

  1. Congratulations on keeping your position for another year! There are pros and cons to both shift work and traditional workweek hours but I think I prefer the latter. Also, great steal on that Sephora Favourites kit, wow!!

    1. Ah yes, I'm super happy about the Sephora kit!
And thank you - I don't mind shift work at all but traditional hours work best with my family right now so I am happy!
