Manicure Monday (Scratch Unicorn Wraps) + Monthly Pedicure (Textured Toes!)

Happy Mani Monday everyone (or Tuesday as I'm writing this!)

I was pretty excited last week to see some Unicorn stickers in my kit from Scratch!

Here is a look at my Mani this week!

Seriously, these are the cutest unicorns ever!

Here is a look at the products I used for this week:

go scratch it unicorn nail wraps

-Essence glitter - please ignore (I was planning on using this but didn't need to!)
-LVX Nail Polish in "Lolli"
-Formula X nail cleanser, base coat, and top coat
-Scratch Nail wraps in Unicorn
-*Not shown - Sally Hansen "White On" Nail Polish
The steps I follow were straightforward
1. Nail cleanser and base coat
2. 1 coat of base polish (I used white under any wrap with pink and pink on the accent nails - it is also not necessary to use base polish, but I thought it would help these really pop on the nails!)
3. Apply wraps: peel off back layer, apply wrap to nail be pressing down and removing top overlay.  Smooth wrap over name and use a file to remove excess at the tip of the nail.
4. Apply a top coat (again, not necessary but I find it helps them last longer)

And here is my Monthly Pedicure

I wanted to use one of my fun, textured polishes but still to keep it nice and bright for Spring! (I'm sorry, forgive my slightly mangled toe polish - I tried using the peel off nail tape on my toes. I can report that it should just be for nails. Toes are hard.)

Here are the products I used for this month's Pedi:

-Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Polish in "White On"
-Nanacoco polish in "Romantic Cruise"
-OPI nail polish in "To Be Or Not To Beagle"
-Formula X nail cleanser, base coat, and top coat
The steps I followed for this are:
1. Nail cleanser and base coat
2. 2 coats of base polish - I used white on the big toe and a baby blue on the rest!
3. Allow to dry well and apply 1 or 2 coats of textured polish (I used 2 to get a lot of colored pieces!)
4. Top coat!

Also for fun before I began my nails I did a hand and a foot mask that I just received in the Spring FabFitFun box!

The hand masks fit pretty good - I wore these for quite awhile to allow the lotion to soak in! My hands felt decent after, but I have to say, I didn't find the results very long lasting.

The socks were a little big on me, and by a little I mean quite a bit too big - there was a whole lot over extra room! I thought the lotion did great and I thought the effects lasted longer than the hand masks!

Honestly though, I didn't follow the instructions on the masks - I thought they were overly complicated and had you cutting away at toes and fingers and peeling back, and blah blah blah. I thought it was too much personally.

Also make sure if you are using a mask for the hands and feet prior to painting your nails that it is removed from the nail surface before painting!
