Cheekbone Beauty Unify Multi-Pencil - Swatches, Review and Thoughts

I have been using and loving Cheekbone Beauty for a couple of years now - I think I first tried their Sustain lipstick in April 2022 and have since picked up face products and more that I have really been enjoying! Also, it's been so exciting to see this brand shine in the past couple of years - they are in Sephora now and it's great to have this Canadian, Indigenous Woman owned brand be so prominent!

Also, have to note - I'm loving their position on social media of no filters - they are proudly sharing their makeup with lines, pores, blemishes, scars, etc. We are all human!

Cheekbone Beauty is an eco-conscious brand, and they are actively working towards their brand being-carbon neutral. Their goal is to lead by example and be a fully waste free company by 2023! They focus on locally sourced ingredients, plant based, fair trade and ethical ingredients, while their packaging is compostable, recyclable, bio-degradable or plantable, or reusable!

Pixi Beauty Eye Effects Shadow Palettes & Nuance Quartettes - Swatches, Try-ons & Thoughts

I'm always excited when I get to try and share more products from a brand that I have been interested in! Pixi Beauty came to Canada in early 2017 and I tried a few products and was really impressed with the skincare products that I tried from them at that time. Then, the next year I really loved their liquid lipstick, so I have been wanting to try more from them and I'm excited to use some new eye shadow and face palettes!

These were received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links

Pixi Beauty just came out with two new eye shadow palettes - the Eye Effects in Rosette Ray and Hazelnut Haze and two new face palette - the Nuance Quartettes in Sugar Blossom and Honey Nectar and they are so pretty! I haven't tried Pixi Beauty makeup since 2017 and their little eyeshadow I tried then wasn't great, but the brand has really focused on their makeup line since then and I'm very excited to try it again - when this collection showed up in a PR box to me, I was honestly so excited to use everything!

May 2018 Boxycharm - Unboxing, Swatches, and Review!

Boxycharm is a beauty subscription box for $21.00 US a month + $5.00 shipping to Canada (shipping is free to the U.S.) Boxycharm sends 4 to 5 full size and luxury size beauty items.

This subscription focuses heavily on make-up items - so that is something to keep in mind! While it is a little pricier than the more inexpensive beauty boxes, the majority of the products are full size, with a deluxe product every once in a while.

May 2018 Boxycharm - Unboxing, Swatches, and Review!

For the past boxes, every subscriber generally receives the same products, with 1 or 2 items that have a few variations. Boxycharm did recently announce that that they are expanding their personalization, so I think from here on out, we will see even more variations with boxes.

Halloween Makeup - Danaerys Targaryen Mother of Dragons Look!

Happy Halloween everyone! This year I had a baby dragon so I HAD to dress up as The Mother Dragons right?!

Halloween Makeup - Danaerys Targaryen Mother of Dragons!

Danaerys Targaryen or her full title "Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons" is bad ass and especially in Season 7!

Her makeup is actually quite natural, and really her look is all about the bold brow! I will say, although her makeup is natural looking, it still took me quite a few products to get the full look!

Makeup Multisticks - Highlight and Contour with THE FACE SHOP

As much as I love makeup, I have to say I just haven't gotten in to the whole contour craze yet (maybe I'm a little intimidated that I will end up looking dirty or weird if I do it wrong!)

But, The Face Shop recently released some new multi-stick highlight and contour products that are supposed to be really easy to use, so I thought I would give it a shot!

Both products can be used under and over foundation depending on how bold or natural you want to go!

Spring 2016 FabFitFun - Unboxing and Review

FabFitFun is a quarterly lifestyle box! For $57.99 USD for Canadians, (FabFitFun is $49.99 in the U.S.A.) at the start of each season, they guarantee you will receive at least $100 worth of items - generally the past boxes have all had well over $200 worth of goodies in them!

FabFitFun has been shipping to Canada for over a year now and I have been pretty happy with the FabFitFun boxes - this is one of my favorite subscriptions! I stick to it despite the crappy exchange rate because the value is always there!!! (I have to say the Winter 2015 box was not my favorite but I saw a few spoilers for the Spring box and had to get it!)

The Spring 2016 Box is their 3rd anniversary box! Here is a look at the Spring FabFitFun box:

Lately, all the FabFitFun boxes have come with really pretty designs - this one was also quite a bit bigger than regular!
