Skoah Illuminate Serum - Review and Thoughts

I love all the Skoah products that I've tried, so naturally when they asked me to be an Ambassador, it was a happy yes to review and share more of their products! (I just want to be up front about this; however, this will never impact my reviews and thoughts!)

Skoah Illuminate Serum ~ $110.00 CAN. Sun damage? Acne scarring? Melasma? This serum provides a 1-2 punch for brightening the skin and reducing of hyperpigmentation from sun damage, acne scarring, melasma or aging.

I was so excited when I saw Skoah releasing an illuminating serum - they came out with a Niacinamide serum last year that's great for brightening, targeting acne and just overall skin wellness, but this new serum combines niacinamide with a bunch of other amazing ingredients to really reduce redness and brighten the skin (just what we all need in the dull, dry Winter season!)

This serum uses tranexamic acid to target redness and excess pigmentation, arbutin to reduce hyperpigmentation and brighten the skin, and niacinamide to reduce signs of aging.

This is one pump one my hand - plenty for face, neck and decolletage application. It's a nice light serum and it applies well.

Some things to note with the ingredients - tranexemic acid is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine, and it is an acid that is typically safe for all skin types, if you have sensitive skin, always to a patch test. Also, this acid typically works "best" when applied twice a day, but may need to be built up to that. I've personally gotten to a good spot that I like a vitamin C in the morning, so this will stay an evening serum for me and it's been good so far like that! Also, you should always be wearing an SPF in the day, but especially if you are incorporating acids in to your routine!

This is used after toners and mists, or if it's easier to remember, before a moisturizer in your routine. Also, sharing for the ingredient list as well.

This is a new product and it just released on October 20, so I'm just getting used to using it in my routine. So far, I've enjoyed it - it's nice and light and one pump goes a long way. I think the ingredients are effective but gentle on my skin and I do have some redness and scarring that will benefit from using this over a prolonged period of time. Personally, I think this is a great release for this time of year - my skin always need brightening this time of year!
